Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. First I'll give an intro about where I'm at. I am thinking of proposing this coming May/June, so I began my diamond search. This forum has been INCREDIBLE help for so many things. I am currently working with GOG to find the perfect diamond, and am now trying to figure out setting stuff as I am hoping to have chosen the diamond soon.
After reading through threads upon threads about who to work with to set the diamond, and have showed numerous pictures to my fiance-to-be (I like her input as I want her to like the ring in the end), I think we are going to go with Steven Kirsch as she loves the halo he makes for his cushions.
One question I have, and haven't been able to find much on this is: what angle should I have the center stone at? I realize this is personal preference, but I haven't really been able to find many comparisons! frankiextah's post comparing SK, VC, and LM was useful, but hers was a round, is it different for a cushion? Does anyone know typically the lie angle for HW (I have heard its low). Are there any comparisons out there?
Perhaps I should note that the center stone is going to be about 3 carats, I figure that may have an impact.
Thanks!
