Probably just,Quartz or amethyst. You can just go to a local store that has a GG amd do s appraisals to verify. But it look like one of my paperweights.
If you live in a city that has a museum with a mineral collection, they may be able to help. Also, 'rock shops' often have people who are pretty good at this sort of question. Google up rock shop, jewelers supply or lapidary supply and see where that leads you.
