Compare these Diamonds

I narrowed down my diamond to an 1.50 carat H SI1 XXX and found one one Blue Nile that I like on paper. I even ran it through the HCA tool and it came back with a 2.0.

I'm also working with a local jewelry store who has a similar diamond but the cut is Very Good and the HCA tool came back with a 4.9 so not as impressive. Their inventory is not as strong and the next better stone is a color grade up and outside of my price range.

The price difference between the local jewelry and blue nile is around $600 and here is their GIA numbers

Blue Nile = 2166023448
Local = 2157871754

I want to purchase the blue nile and compare them side by side. From what I've heard it is easy to return items to blue nile and right now they have extended returns for the holiday.

Any thoughts?

Looks great except for the big inclusion in the middle of the table. I would buy VS2 or better unless I could see the diamond such as james allen

I would agree that it is far better to buy from a vendor who provides pictures and an idealscope image especially when looking at SI clarity. James Allen has been mentioned and Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash both carry top cut quality stones. I would eliminate the diamond with the 4.9 HCA score and start over.

Thanks for everyone's input. I did really like James Allen's photos and previously did not spend much time there. I agree that those inclusions on the Blue Nile stone could really be a deal breaker. So here is another diamond I found from James Allen. I called JA and they confirmed it would be eye clean. Here is the GIA report. It comes back with a 1.0 in the HCA tool. You'll notice that the table is 59% does this cause any concern? Anything else I'm missing?





I'm really thinking that at this price point this diamond might be ideal for me. I would like to keep the stone as close to 12k as possible and find a H Si1 XXX 1.50 carat and this one seems to work nicely.
