Hello guys and gals....from a first timer. I found PS from a google search and I am surprised I haven't been here sooner. I'll try to give a quick background, but I tend to ramble. I've been married for almost 7 years and with my recent new job, it's time to finally give my wife a ring she deserves. I'm the kind of guy that likes to do research and read reviews. Yesterday we had some unusual free time to take a drive to look at rings...(2½ hour drive to find somewhat of a selection). Looked at 5 different places. My wife has thought that she liked many Verragios and a few from Neil Lane. Most of the Verragio rings were just to small or delicate looking in person I guess. She has long skinny fingers and a small band doesn't look right. She does prefer many split bands. She would find 1 or 2 ok rings at each B&M store. Nothing to really wow her. The last store we went to was Jared. She saw a ring that caught her attention. I will try to post a link, hope it works.http://www.jared.com/en/jaredstore/...iamond-bridal-set/100222/100222.100223.100226

It caught her attention since it appeared to be a wider band. Obviously it has 2 bands on each side. The multi-diamond center fooled her at first until she saw the price tag. Then she knew there was something up with it since it was only $3699. She was thinking of just getting a nice round diamond to replace the center. Sounded like a good idea. After we made it home, I did my research. The 52 rounds are I2-I3, no thank you. I was planning on budgeting $14,000-15,000, so this wasn't near what I was expecting. She doesn't think I can find a similar setting online for about the same price w/o the center stone. I'm looking for the gurus with any advice on finding something similar. She also fell in love with this Neil Lane that I am sure is way out of budget, but any recommendations on something close to this would be great also:

Thanks in advance for any help,

That Jared ring looks awesome. Have you considered having it copied?

That looks like 3 rings - a simple center band with a stacker on each side.

Take a look at Gabriel & Co settings - they have a similar feel. Get a ring with flush band maybe and you can use stacking rings to give the width she's after... give one for anniversary, birthday etc. Good way to increase options in terms of flexibility of look as well. :naughty:

Good Old Gold (very highly respected vendor here) carries Gabriel, and many other brands of settings, and they have some of the nicest stones around. Worth looking into.

I agree, a nice center stone with a halo and two bands would be much better!

Another option is to look at Engagement Rings Direct (ERD). They can do a custom CAD for you with the design of your choice for a reasonable price and they have been getting really great reviews on PS. Do you want a cushion or round diamond? It looks like the Neil Lang is a cushion whereas the Jared ring is round. ERD has some nice cushions that have an antique looking cut and will provide images and videos of these stones. They have rounds too. Call Chris if interested, he is great to work with. GOG, as suggested already, is another good option for the gabrielny settings and diamonds. I will post some ERD suggestions below.

Here are some ERD setting options (pictures aren't that great compared to the pictures I see on PS):

Here are some ERD cushions and they can help you find one if they don't have exactly what you are looking for:

Here is a thread on ERD rings (some are CADs some are hand forged). Also do a search on ERD and you will get a bunch more reviews and threads.
