I requested the IdealScope image. They told me it will be a few days before they can email it to me, but I will post it as soon as I get it.

Can''t wait to see this baby (I think I might be more excited than her!)

And another question...

Now that I decided to go with the 1.50 carat, I'm beginning to think my setting isn't sufficient. Here is the one I picked out:

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/solitaire-engagement-rings.html

(I just realized its only supposed to hold diamonds up to 1.49 anyway)

My main question is, should I go with a 6 prong or a 4 prong? Will a 6 prong protect the diamond more? Will it look worse with more prongs? Any comments are welcomed...

I'm thinking about going with this one now:

Its 4 prongs, but I will get it in platinum to decrease the chances of a prong breaking....good idea?

I like that second one much more - the knife edge and sharp prongs look better as a unit.

Those are very thick, sturdy prongs, I shouldn''t think you''ll have any problems with four, though with your diamond size you could go to six and not worry about overwhelming the stone.

I personally prefer four prongs with that setting style, the whole thing looks minimalistically edgy, somehow, and I feel like six would compete.

The existing setting still could work, just check with JA for suitability if you want to keep this one. 6 v 4 prongs is personal preference, some feel 6 prongs makes the diamond look rounded and protects it better, others prefer 4 so go with the ones you like best and make sure you have insurance as you would do anyway.
