Well I got my pictures of my new ring from whiteflash this morning! One day ahead of schedule. It will ship tonight, how am I supposed to wait?!?

Can any Canadians tell me how long it took for their ring to clear customs?

It''s so funny that you all are saying it looks big, because when I opened the e-mail with the pictures I thought it looked small! haha... but then I looked more and thought it looks pretty good for my first RB!

I need to remind myself that not everyone lives in PS-land, and in my social circle this will be one of the largest rocks anyone has (not that that such comparisons matter to me, but it helps put things in perspective when the dreaded DSS rears its ugly head). Many people are still having a hard time wrapping their heads around the notion that I will now own two rings... one friend asked me if I was going to wear my three-stone and the new solitaire on the same finger!

Rookies! haha

I am super excited to get this baby on my finger! I will post millions and millions of photos, not to worry!

I love Whiteflash! I asked them to take a couple pictures of my ring with the halo and harmony wedding bands, so I could see what they look like together. Here are the pictures, which do you prefer? I am considering buying one of these bands for my wedding band as soon an $$ allows.

BTW I think that the bands are sized bigger than my ring which is why they look thicker.

Oh, and in these pictures I think my stone looks huge!

And white... it's a J remember?? Maybe it's just the lighting, but I am impressed.

Thanks guys, I also prefer the halo, esp. since Katie told me that the harmony would be thicker than my solitaire. That really bugs me. I''m also thinking about getting a Beverly K ring like the one pictured, which Bill Pearlman says is the same thickness as my solitaire (1.8mm) and is the same width as the halo (2mm). I''m going to take a trip to Pearlman''s when i get my ring and try on a million different bands, how fun!

It usually takes two days for my ring to arrive from WF ie. they ship Monday and it should get here Tuesday, but customs always holds it up and you have to fill out a power of attorney, then fax it in and then they process it (I get this done super fast) and then it arrives Wednesday. Once I filled out the POA wrong and it was held up an extra day

My nearest customs office is 3 hrs away so maybe if you live near it you can go in and do this? Not sure, now I just expect 2-3 days for my goodies to arrive so I don''t go insane.

Shimmer thanks for the information I totally appreciate it! I think the nearest customs place to me is an hour away so is might be possible to get it myself... I guess I depends on whether I can wait or not

I don''t like it when the w-band is thicker and sticks out farther on the sides than the e-ring. Pearlmans has so many brands, plus they have more Bev K rings that might work.

your ring is gorgeous. you will LOVE visiting pearlmans. i''ve been there 2 times (well 3, but one was for less than 10 minutes and i didn''t try on anything so i don''t count it) and it''s like being a kid in a candy store. you''ll be blown over, i promise. I''d wait on the band until you can get there and try on all the one''s they have. out of the WF bands though i like the halo band best.

I agree with you 100000000% DS! I am so glad that WF took those pictures for me because without seeing the rings together I just wouldn''t have known that I wasn''t crazy about either ring. In my mind, the harmony was out completely because I also hate hate hate when one ring is thicker than the other. And although I like the proportions of the halo being a little thinner than the solitaire, the band just isn''t floating my boat for some reason. I feel like the diamonds aren''t obvious enough or something?? Also, it is so straight where the solitaire has that lovely curvature where the shank meets the diamond... That''s why I wondered whether the Beverly K would work, it seems to mimic the curve of the shank!

Anyways, I e-mailed Bill and asked about whether they had lots of Beverly K''s in stock and this was his reply:

"Yes Ma''am I do. I have so much it will make your head spin."

He even offered to make an appointment for us to come on a Saturday, since we would be driving down and it takes a long time to get there. I figure it''ll be a great road trip for hubby and I... well, mostly I! haha We''re going to go in May when the semester winds down.

Anyways, just called FedEx and they said I may get my ring tomorrow evening if all goes well at customs because I live near them, but we shall see! I am so excited!
