Ok, the pictures following were taken during the day, and most have 100 degree New Mexican sunlight pumped into them. It's one HOT day and I think I got sunburnt while taking pics!

Ok, so is it just me or does it look a bit like a (white!) diamond in this shot?

Ok, this is the grand finale! I hope you enjoyed! And I hope you have some setting ideas, because I sure as heck don''t!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, likey!

That New Mexican sun, very flattering to the spinel! Better get your zinc oxide out, though!

Setting plans?

Ring I guess? I want to be able to see it. I''m not sure where to go other than some kind of pronged ring. Any suggestions?

Ooh it''s so silvery - I love it! Do you want to bring out the pink tones more or the silvery ones? You know I''m all about RG lately - it would look awesome in a RB split shank I think. Or maybe one of those twisted coil/rope settings? I think Sally does bands of that style.

That is a gorgeous gem. Love the pink/peach tint. I would totally have used that for an engagement ring. Got the color changing blue green sapphire instead which is gorgeous too. Should have it back in the ring on Tuesday.

:)

I think silvery BEG. I have a tourm that I'm leaning towards doing something with RG though. A pendant though, because it's blue green, and I have two other blue green tourm rings in the works (eventually). Your twisted coil/rope idea shot me back to a certain setting...I can't freaking find it, but you'll know what I'm talking about with this:

Linky to Leon...

Thanks Souled In, I think it deserves a special setting because it's taken me a long time to find this, and its exactly what I've been looking for for about 3 years. I can't wait to see your blue green sapphire!

Oh, look BEG, I had it saved on my comp!

I love that. I think my perfect combo would be the first setting but with the second setting''s double claws. Although the stone isn''t huge so the delicacy of the second setting might suit it more. I''m thinking something that looks super delicate to enhance the delicate color the stone? Does that make sense?

Very pretty Freke! I also love your setting ideas, especially the first one because I like miligrain.

That second setting, with the prongs in rose gold, is how I would go about it

I love this stone, but that''s because I have one similar that isn''t as well-cut. Pretty pretty!

I don''t have any setting ideas but it sure looks pretty, particularly sitting on the sprig with flowers.

The spinel looks like DIAMOND in the last few photos:) Do you wanna play up the pink or do you actually like it colorless? I am just curious:)

Love it! and love the flower pics as well, the facet colours are superb in those.

I think the delicateness of the second setting would suit this stone more.

You''ve inspired me to look for silver/grey spinels. I love your other grey spinel ring also

Can you post pics of your grey spinel ring next to this stone for comparison purposes? please

Leave it to Barry to come through for you. Nice stone! and it does look like a diamond in those last pics.

I LOVE that first Leon mounting. That would be gorgeous!
