Cleaning e-ring at home.

Hi Everyone, there are so many videos on you tube on how to clean your diamond on ering. I have personally used these 2 methods below but wanted to find out how others on this board clean their ring and how often.

1. Warm water with dish soap. I usually soak my ring in warm water for about half hour and then with the help of a soft bristle tooth brush take some additional dish soap and scrub the diamond gently to get rid of all the gunk. After thats done, rinse under clear water and tap dry with paper towel or micro fiber cloth. Some videos suggest to use hot water but i have never used hot water. Not sure if it was safe.

2. Use one part ammonia and 2 parts warm water. Soak the ring in it for half hour and then scrub with soft bristle toothbrush and rinse with clear water.

I usually use method 1 since i think is gentle enough but method 2 cleans the ring really well.

I use #2 with hot water. We've been cleaning this way for 4 generations.

I’ve often wondered why we don’t have/make a sticky ‘how to clean your diamond ring’ thread, as this question is so often asked.
