Classic piece that you can wear daily?

I currently have a pair of tahitian pearl earrings, 2ctw studs, and a tahitian pearl necklace. Since my birthday is coming up plus I got my tax returns, I thought of getting another 'classic' piece to add to my collection. I want something that I can wear daily, which can bring me from the office to a night out. I am thinking of diamond huggies, or maybe a simple solitaire pendant. Any suggestions?

what size ctw for either huggies (thinking of 5 stone each, not hoops) or pendant for daily wear would be suitable though? I am really stuck as to what is the 'best' size that would bring me from day to night!

Do you have an engagement ring yet? That is how I determine pendant size!

He hasn't proposed yet, but my e-ring is going to be a 3.91 EC. Now the more I think about it, the more shape schizophrenic I become! I was thinking of rounds, because an EC pendant would likely get smudged up quickly. Or a pear...yummy!

I think a pear or round pendant would be excellent! Since studs are 1 ct. each and the future e-ring is over 3 cts., I'd recommend a size between those for your pendant. I'd say 1.25 to 1.5 cts. would be perfect for everyday or night wear.

I love my diamond solitaire pendant for wearing with anything and everything. It looks pretty with a cocktail dress or a tee and jeans. I think somewhere in the 1-1.5 ct range would probably be a good size for you. Mine is a bezel-set RB, and it always looks much cleaner than the EC in my e-ring. I love my EC very much, but RBs look cleaner so much longer.

Definitely a diamond pendant. I have a diamond pendant and a diamond necklace and I wear one or the other everyday.

Do you think you will wear a pendant much? I only ask because I had a pendant for a while and never wore it -- just not me to wear a necklace. Then again, I don't wear my studs either so I am strange

But my vote would be for either a diamond pendant or huggies, whichever you think you will wear the most!

Hi ladies,

thanks for all the feedback! I went out window shopping yesterday, and tried on different styles etc. I tried on 2 ctw huggies (5 stones each earring) and while I loved it, I found it slightly too blingy for daily office wear. I did fall in love with something like this

but it's 15 pointers each. I tried on pendants as well, but they only had rounds, and I have to say I find it a little plain...would a dainty halo around a 1.5 round with a halo be over the top?

I also asked about pear solitaire pendants but they had none so it has to be custom made, (I was thinking bezel...or maybe a 'drop' where there's a smaller round on top of the pear?). I am slightly nervous about going custom since CADs and reality can turn out really different, which was what happened to me when I did custom before, and prefer if they already had ready stock.

Anyone knows of any online vendors with pear pendants or haloed solitaire pendants with a good return policy?

Oh, excellent - I was going to put in a vote for a pendant, and then I saw that you'd already settled on one! I got a 1.3 pear a year and a half ago, bezeled it, and don't think I've taken it off for so much as a day since. It really does go with just about everything!

I quite like the bezels at Diamonds by Lauren: they mostly sell colored diamonds, but they have some white diamonds, and I'm pretty sure they'd be happy to call things in for you. With a design like this, maybe, only both stones bezeled?
