I was about to order a WF ACA (1.62 ct F VS1) that won the last poll I posted to compare to a CBI. However after trying on some rings today I discovered I want something as big as possible. I found another ACA stone that's 0.21 mm bigger in diameter (it makes a difference on my size 4.5 finger which is 15mm wide), and it's still roughly within my price range.

Besides price/size, are these stones basically equal? Or is one better than the other?

ACA 1.62 ct F VS1 - $19,206
7.54 x 7.60 x 4.68

ACA 1.74 ct G VS1 - $21,884
7.76 x 7.80 4.75

The 1.62 F is whiter, faces up larger, and is cheaper. Definitely the one I would choose!

Oh shoot... I mixed up the dimensions. 1.74 ct actually faces up larger. Thanks for catching that, I fixed it!

Thanks for your input! Do you think one color grade really makes a big difference?

Lol, I deleted my post after I saw that they were switched. I would go for the bigger one!

Hi,

You have your links backwards.

Other than that, I’d say the only real difference i see is that the hearts on the smaller diamond look more symmetrical. I don’t think that would be a cause to rule out the larger diamond though. If you want bigger, the 1.74 should still be a beautiful diamond. You may want to ask them to re-examine the hearts image though as it might not be an ACA after all (and therefore would be less expensive).

A G ACA will be very white and you won't see much difference between a F and a G unless they are side by side.

@ceg Thanks!! Bigger is better

@ILikeShiny That's super helpful. I think I see that the hearts are a little lopsided, which I didn't notice before. Thank you!! (Also I fixed the links, so far 2 mistakes haha)

I voted for the F 1.62ct b/c it's one color grade higher and cost $2600 less, plus you don't see many stones with such a small table + a high crown.

@cottoncandy the 1.62 ACA with link you provided below is actually a G and not an F

Here is a 1.718 F VS2 which seem to have some black inclusions on the side but it maybe white in real life as they say it'a eye clean. It's also within your budget at $20.726

I see more than the one oddity. You have the little crow feet going on where I did additional arrows. Also I circled some obvious thickness differences on the V's.

Minor differences but might be helpful in deciding if more perfect symmetry is important. Still love the small table and CA and PA combo of the 1.62.

Big picture is both are still beautiful. I don't think 0.10mm aways me either way. We are talking 1/256th of an inch. I think sparkle is better with the 1.62, ar least to me, and I'd notice that more than the minor size difference.

Nahhh ...the hearts are off on that stone. How did it qualify as ACA ?

And why does that stone appear dark overall? The higher crown angle?

It is possible that the stone is slight tilted and off centre.
Also, as I wrote before, not all super ideal H&As have uniform angles and hearts like yours.

I would go for the bigger, it’s still an ACA
