I understand what you say but I don't have any sympathy for him because he handled Covid-19 very poorly, saying things like 'its all under control' but I do agree even if Obama had been president there would have been confusion in the beginning at the minimum. I think under another president we wouldn't be 20% of the worlds Covid-19 cases but only 4.3% of the worlds population, something wrong there, I'm always labelled a PITA here but I also support that Trump did his best to try and start fairer trade rules between the US and China.. but he overwhelmingly caters to the minority, the minority of racist, haters, white power, religious zealots in America, that I can't abide, but I can support a few things he did.

And I want to say something that may surprise some, but I sympathize with Trump that this happened during his tenure. It's one of those oh sh*t if not black swan, gray swan events that could have happened under anyone's watch. Pandemics can be highly deadly. We are lucky that this virus is not a black plague or ebola level type fatality and virilence. Then we would see a million people die in the US versus 200,000. What I'm saying is, no matter who was president, most likely nothing would have prevented some spread to the US and some number of deaths in the US. It's a pandemic. We can only focus on what we can control and use best and evolving medical and epidemiological information to limit its spread/damage.

I as someone who has grown up in America but fluent in two cultures see Trump as the same as Putin and Xi. They all go by the same playbook on how to maintain their hold on power.

The America I love is not the America in Trump's vision of the future. I would not choose victory against the enemy by turning INTO the enemy. And whether or not Trump can secure us a victory against the enemy, is far from assured. I suspect not. Trump brushes allies aside, and there is no principle or value he is not willing to sacrifice, so long as he ends up benefiting from the deal.

I was persuaded to believe the Clintons were corrupt, and apparently the only alternative was a guy who has demonstrated himself to be more overtly corrupt and unable to dig up real dirt on Hillary after 2.5 years.

Now, there are only two possibilities left. One, Hillary really is as corrupt as the Republicans claim, and it's just that all the Republicans put together are too incompetent to find evidence of her corruption. Two, Hillary was not corrupt as the Republicans claim, and has been wronged.

I'm afraid I was thinking something similar to what I think Karl is saying. It seems to me that some people are "overplaying their hand". There is a JUST CAUSE for what has transpired around Black Lives Matters. The police show institutional Racism among their many offices around the country. I think the majority of Americans support action and change. I want the focus to be on that issue. When you find all sorts of questionable issues brought to the fore, you lose the wonderful impact the original energy had on bringing the American people together.

It begins to look and feel like a mob tearing down monuments that someone has declared racist. No, not for me. Perhaps some do need to come down. We do look like a third world country destroying things. Remember when the taliban destroyed those beautiful monuments? Please lets not be crazy. Now, as part of the new movement, I support Juneteeth day as a Holiday.
