Cartier Tank or Panthere? Promotion present for myself :)

hello there! I’m hoping for some general advice - I’m considering buying myself a cartier watch as a gift to myself for a recent promotion. I always thought I wanted a two toned tank francaise (I wear a lot of gold rings and earrings), but also tried on the panthere and now can’t decide. I feel the panthere is more feminine, which I love, and I love the way the links feel. The tank francaise has a beautifully muted watch face, especially compared to the brighter white face of the panthere. And would it wear better over time, with the brushed stainless steel?

I wasn’t able to try on the two toned tank francaise nor the stainless steel panthere, which is adding to my uncertainty. I’d likely get the panthere in SS rather than two toned, for some reason I prefer it. And having tried on the SS Francaise, rather than the two toned, I found I rather liked it.

The two things I am sure of are that I’d get either watch in size small, and that the all gold versions cost more than I’m willing to spend. I think need to make another appointment to try them on again, but figured I’d consult the forum in the meantime.

Any thoughts? Do any of you own either one, or both, and could let me know what you do (and maybe don’t) love about them? How about mixing metals between watches and other jewelry?

This will be my everyday watch and quite the upgrade from my current skagen, so I want to be sure before making the purchase ☺️

I don’t own either, but when I’ve tried on both the Panthere really sang to me for all of the reasons you cited. The link design is just so beautiful and really made it feel like a gorgeous piece of jewelry, not just a watch. That’s my vote!

I know you were thinking of SS, but I really like the two tone on you! Especially wi your pretty and delicate YG chain! Although you can’t go wrong either way. I think the size on your small wrist is perfect!

I didn’t expect this to be so hard ha. I agree, the panthere does feel more like jewelry!

Congrats on the promotion.

My dream watch is a Panthere. Sadly it’s at the bottom of my wish list since I started wearing Apple watches. I have a Seiko watch with a SS rice link band; a very close look a like. It’s my favorite everyday watch. It’s dressy to wear to a formal event and comfortable to wear working out. My gym is in my office building at work and I don’t take off my watch or jewelry.

I actually picked out the small tank for myself a few years ago. I loved the classic look for work. I’m thinking of adding a small Panthere in two tone or yellow gold as I have been wearing more yellow gold. They’re both gorgeous and I seriously considered the Panthere in stainless, you can’t go wrong. I have a BB in two tone RG it gives a similar idea of how the alternating metals work. The shape of the Panthere looks beautiful on you!

Thank you. I love that - that’s a big part of the appeal for me, even though it's dressy it also seems really easy for daily wear.

Beautiful - both the watches and the rings!! Gorgeous! I always love looking at ring/watch combinations. That's exciting. The gold versions - of both the tank and the Panthere - are absolutely stunning. You'll be able to choose the perfect watch for any occasion and jewelry combination :)

After much waffling I've decided on the SS Panthere in small. It just feels right for my everyday while still feeling very special for a first nice watch

Oh my - I am so so happy with my decision to go with the small panthere in SS. I’m definitely glad I weighed my options and tried them on first - I couldn’t be happier

Thank you @FL_runner , @chere , and @Cerulean for weighing in while I was still deciding!
