Thanks for your compliments on my hands! Long fingers are kind of a "curse" because I don''t think smaller rings look right on me. My mother wears the same size ring as I do, but her fingers are much shorter. My wedding ring (well all of my rings) look ridiculous on her! But I let her try them on anyway - fun to see what they look like on someone else!Date: 8/13/2009 4:51:51 AM

I too think that our hands are the same size but I definitely do not have your gorgeous long slender fingers, not to mention that TDF tan!Date: 8/11/2009 1:37:04 PM

LVnut, thanks for posting pics of your GORGEOUS GORGEOUS rings, I mean it, they''re absolutely TDF!!![]()

I *really* see what you mean abt you being a lover of big jewellery!! A woman after my own heart!!![]()
As far as gemstones go (I do love BOTH of yr diamond rings), my fave is the tsavorite followed by that beautiful tanzanite. Could you share the specs of those? They''re all beautiful but if I had to pick, I''d choose those.
Ditto, thritto other PS''ers'' requests for pics of the rest of your AMAZING jewellery collection. You do indeed have EXCELLENT taste (very similar to mine, he he
, if I may say so).![]()
We definitely do have similar taste in jewelry - I think our hands are about the same size also! Your gorgeous pear with the halo and the diamond studs are my favorites - wanna swap them for the tsavorite and tanzanite? Boy that wouldn''t be a fair trade for you at all - but I''d be thrilled!
The specs on the tanzanite are 6.36 carats and the weight of the baguettes in that ring is 1.15 carats H-I-J color and SI 1-2 clarity. I have honestly thought about selling it to put towards other jewelry purchases, but my husband said I''d be crazy to get rid of it! I really got a good deal on it when I bought it a few years back.
The tsavorite is 3.62 carats surrounded by 1.56 carats of G-H color VS clarity diamonds.
Everyone is starting to convince me that I should wear these more often! I just wear so much brown, turquoise and white with gold that I end up wearing the other rings more.
Thank you again for your kind comments!![]()
Thank you for your kind compliment. I DO def think that your collection is INCREDIBLE, and yes, you should wear them all more often - a shame to leave them lying around, though I have to say I''d have trouble choosing which one(s) to put on in the morning.
Oh no, please do not sell your tanzanite. Your husband is right. It is gorgeous and as you got it for a good deal, I really wouldn''t sell it, you wouldn''t be able to buy another remotely similar.
Thanks for posting all the stats and pics.
Btw, do you have close-up pics of the two rings on the top two rows, furthest to the right. The top one, esp, looks interesting. What stones are these?
I am not LVNUT, but have you looked at the brand "Essie"? I am a nail technician and that is the brand that I use. Her polish reminds me of the Essie "mademoiselle" which is a soft soft pink. There is Blushing Bride, Ballet Slippers, Sugar daddy that are extremely light and are perfect for the "clean" look.Date: 8/13/2009 6:30:21 AM

OH BOY!!! Wiping off the saliva on my laptop...U are offically my idol, lvnut!!!! My favourite is the blue topaz!! Simply GORGEOUS!
On a side note, could you please tell me what is the nail polish colour that u are wearing in your first picture, showcasing the smoky brown quartz! Such a wearable and lovely shade of pink!!
Thank you! The blue topaz is definitely in my top three favorites - that''s why I keep buying clothes to match it!Date: 8/13/2009 6:30:21 AM

The nail polish is by Essie and it''s called Mademoiselle. The strange thing is I''ve been wearing that color for a long time and that is a new bottle and I swear it looks more sheer than normal!
That is too funny! We were posting at the same time and you guessed exactly what polish I have on! Your are an expert! I find Ballet Slippers to be a little more opaque. And I''m with you about how long it lasts - when I took those hand shots the other day - my manicure was a week old! I do my own nails - would love to spoil myself every once in awhile, but I am really particular. Too bad we don''t live near each other because I have a feeling you would do a great job!Date: 8/13/2009 9:04:31 AM

On another note, in one of your threads I noticed our haircuts are similar!
I actually haven''t posted a photo of myself - I''ve always been a little worried about privacy on the internet and check me out now posting photos of my jewelry! I have finally joined facebook and have quite a few photos there - maybe we can figure out how to find each other without posting our names here? On another note, in one of your threads I noticed our haircuts are similar!I love my profession. I love to make people feel good
I have been doing this for 13 years now. I never knew I would love it as much as I do
did you post a picture of yourself LVNUT? I''d love to see your beautiful visage
i wish we''d live closer to another, bad for you though as I would be playing in your jewelry box all the time
i''d looooooooooooove to do your nails, we''d have lots to talk about, I would gaze at your jewelry while working... I think we would become fast friends
as for polish, I dont want to knock down OPI - but in my opinion, the hype around the brand is really inflated. They have not mastered the ''light polish'' in my opinion. Everytime I used a light OPI color to do my french manicures, they never looked ''right''. Then i decided to use Essie one day and I switched all my polish to that brand. I use their ''Good to go'' top coat and its beautiful...
Sorry for the threadJack!!!
Now, back to our regularly scheduled program ...![]()
I think we may be twins separated at birth! Keep me posted on the polish - love ya too - you are such a sweetheart!!!Date: 8/13/2009 9:53:25 AM

OMG!!!! I use the Orly bonder too - the amber colored oneMy... that is so cool! you do nails the same way as I do mine for all of my clients!
how about ''poor little rich girl''? It''s a dark bordeaux color with shimmer in it. You are right though, most of Essie''s dark colors are flat.
Also, the ''After Sex'' is a nice rich dark cherry red, kinda like OPI''s ''I am not really a waitress''. I love dark polish on my toes, i used to wear ''A man in every Port-ugal''.. i hate it when you get addicted to a color and suddenly they discontinue it! You end up on Ebay trying to find that color and you just dont care if it costs 25$ lol.
on another note, Chanel has VERY nice dark shimmery polishes too... They are PRICEY, but they last long. maybe you can venture that route too
i''ll look tonight at home and see what i have for Dark Shimmery Essie colors and get back to you on this thread.
love ya girl.
Thanks for the suggestions! I also like to do my fingernails dark in the winter, but that really gets high maintenance! I haven''t tried Chanel polishes yet - may have to go to Nordstrom today.Date: 8/13/2009 10:17:18 AM

Thank you Amethyste and lvnut! Am going to try Essie this weekend!!![]()
I do have one recommendation for dark polish on toes: OPI''s Expresso My Style. It''s a dark brown with shimmers, totally yummy. I have been eying Chanel''s new fall colour GONDOLA, check it out! If all fails, there is always Rouge Noir by Chanel..![]()
Chanel is comparable... But for the price difference , I stick with Essie. be ready to pay $25-$30 for a bottle of chanel polishDate: 8/13/2009 10:37:45 AM

lvnut,
Thank you for posting the stats of your GORGEOUS amethyst and peridot. Can''t wait to see close up shots.
As for my FY little stone, I''ve decided to go with the same setting as yours, one row of yellow melee and one row of white melee. My jeweller doesn''t know how to do milgrain and I don''t think I should insist ''cos they might mess up! May I ask you another Q: does your ring have a yellow cup underneath your stone? Would it be too much trouble to ask you for underside and side shots of that AMAZING ring? Thanks.
I''ve tried to take pics of the stone but they''re so lousy, all blurry. Lemme try and take some more next week and see if they''ll turn out any better.![]()

thank you so much, I will do that. Because I have never seen one like that in a store. I am living in London, so don''t worry about chasing up any information. I will try it here. thanks again, and enjoy ur beautiful ringsDate: 8/16/2009 6:40:52 PM

Thank you!
I ordered my ring box from my jeweler. I''m not sure it''s something that most jewelry stores sell (my jeweler is a friend with a small store that specializes in custom jewelry where everything is done on the premises), but it was similar to the boxes they used in the jewelry store I used to work in years ago when they would lock things up at night. I really like the fact that it has a lid, because before I had it I almost had a jewelry spill and that would not have been good since everything was in one box - rings, necklaces, you name it!
Maybe if you go to a small independent jeweler, they would be able to order one for you. If you have trouble finding one, let me know and I can find out who he ordered it from!
