between a 0.44-0.45 ct and a 0.50-0.52 ct in a round brilliant?

I doubt 10 pts will make much of a difference visually.

Ooops...meant to put this in RockyTalky. Admin, please move if you feel it''s appropriate.

How the stone is cut makes a difference. If the larger stone is cut too deep it could look identical face up.

The stones I''m looking at are all WF ACAs.

The thing to look at is the diameter measurement. That tells much more about the appearance than the weight does. Post the diameters for us.

The 0.44 ct''s measurements are: 4.92 x 4.94 x 3.01.
The 0.50 ct is 5.16 X 5.20 x 3.11.
And the 0.52 is 5.20 x 5.22 x 3.17.

Thanks!

Could you see the difference side by side w/ unmounted stones? Yes.

Could you see the difference if both stones were mounted and they were next ot each other? Yes, but it wouldn''t be as easy.

Will you really notice a difference in everyday wear between the two when they aren''t next to each other? Not in my opinion.

Wow, the difference is really small. Side by side unmounted, you may be able to pick them out. Once mounted, even side by side, it'll be difficult to tell them apart. When worn separately, I highly doubt you'll know which is bigger or smaller.

In an old thread we decided/someone said that the difference the human eye notices is .20 mm
So it would just barely be noticible. But like Chrono said when the stones aren''t right next to each other you probably won''t be able to tell cause you''re right at the break point.

Once the diamond is mounted, you probably won''t be able to tell a difference between those three diamonds.
