The seach function here doesn not work that great for me. When I hit my back button it goes to web page expired and I have to start all over.

Does anyone recall seeeing a post about SI-I1 diamonds and actual photos of them? I already looked thorugh the post about Show Off Your Bling in the 2-3 carat range.

I really need to see some photos to get an idea of what those diamonds might look like. I've never bought anything under a G or H VS1. And that's because my husband is picky about things and had eagle eyes. But if I am going to get a diamond past the 3 carat range I am going to have to go down on both clarity and color to stay within my budget. I think I can go down to about a J with no problem whatsoever as long as it has a good cut.

I just don't know if I will be happy with a diamond less than a S1--but let me tell you I want to keep my options open at this point and at least look.

Does anyone have photos of their larger sized diamonds in the S1-I1 range? Or have a link to a post about the subject.

TIA. :D

1-Every SI stone is different, and clarity grading standards change as size increases - it is much more difficult to find a 3ct eyeclean SI2 by any given metric than a 0.3ct. Visibility will also depend on shape and cut of a stone.
2-What does eyeclean actually mean to you? Whether or not a stone meets your standards will depend on what requirements it must fulfil.
3-Whether or not you will see an inclusion depends first and foremost on your visual acuity
4-Photographs don't tell you anything about the real-world visibility of an inclusion - and non-professional photographs not designed to point out inclusions tell you even less: clear still-photos will point out inclusions in stark contrast, blurry pictures will hide everything, and none of them are to-size anyway.

So any threads you find are going to be entirely subjective recitals of "I'm thrilled with my SI!" or "I hate my SI!". Truly, best thing to do is go and look at some GIA/AGS graded well-cut stones of the shape and size you are considering in-person. But since you asked here is the thread I think you may be referring to ;)) https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/lets-post-our-si-stones-here.36489/page-3

Yeppers! Thank you! That is exactly what I am looking for.

1. The shape I am going for is OEC, OMC or RB in the 2.5-4 carat range.
2. Eye clean to me means that if my ring is an armslength away I am not going to notice any glaring defects.
3. I actually "think" I am much less sensative to inclusions than most are. As long as a diamond sparkles and doesn't have obvious aka big black spots I "think" I might be okay with it. Okay, and as long as those inclusions aren't on the table or "could" be hidden with a prong.
4. Yep, I get that about the photos...but I can still see defects in diamonds that have photos...I mean good photos like with a macro lense or even a high quality lense.
