Hello all,

I posted another thread regarding a pear shaped mined diamond on another thread but came across lab grown diamonds as well. I've attached the certificate. Can I get some advice on whether or not this is worth it? Also, will some jewelers not set lab grown diamonds?

The lab report really is not useful, but itself, for fancy shapes. We really need photos and a video to help you.

To my eyes, I see a lot of mush in areas where it should have more life. The round end should look more like a round in performance. I'm not loving this, but hang tight to see if there are any dissenters.

To my eyes, yes. It will show movement in the middle, but not much in the areas I circled.


You lose some size, but this would be worth requesting a video to look at.

Have you posted anything in the lab grown diamond forum? Other folks there may have additional suggestions since they’re shopping for the same thing.

I think I’d be bothered by the black spot in the center of the table, even if I couldn’t see it in real life mounted with the ring on a finger. But that’s just me. Ymmv.

I'm not fussed about the inclusions, but the stone looks to have a brownish tint. That may just be the lighting.
