I want to send a big thank you to all of you who are following my upgrade journey. I wanted to start a new thread regarding a potential setting that I’m obsessing over here it is the question is, what kind of band would complement this setting? Or would it only work if worn alone? I
Am the queen of stackers but I can’t think of one band that would complement it! If you have pics or a similar set please share! I should add that I’m not a fan of matchy matchy so custom making a matching one won’t work 31763FF1-2BF7-4F8E-8AC8-42D9921F1DFF.jpegA71FA3DD-D987-4618-91E4-4004DCBA75F5.jpeg

A simple elegant platinum band would work. It also works well alone.

Plain, textured or engraved bands would look fabulous with that setting. I happen to really love this setting. I definitely see the appeal!
I think you lucked out  and can't make a wrong choice. What a great conundrum to be in:bigsmile:

Your ring is gorgeous. I can definitely see a plain band paired with it

I can see some of the single stone bands:

Ooh I need to catch up! Is this the new stone? I love this new setting! You have plenty of options that will pair beautifully.

I have a reverse tapered solitaire with graduated diamonds on the side - I wear it with a skinny cartier trinity. I don't think they still make the skinny trinity, but I have seen similar on etsy with the 3 1.5mm bands.

beautiful ring!! :kiss2:

I almost think it only works well alone! But I don’t know why I choose to never ever wear my ring solo! I’m trying to examine why that is.

Interesting. I do have plain and 1 engraved so I’ll be sure to try them out next week!

I do have a couple of curved bands... will take those with me as well!

This is the new stone! And the potential new setting, lol.

Sounds lovely! Will stalk your threads for pics!

Another vote for a skinny plain band, maybe in 18ct yellow gold to add interest?

I think a simple, thin, platinum band (or2) would look elegant.

ETA: I came back for another look and I def think just 1 band. It’s blingy enough and 2 thin ones on either side won’t look right, just busy, in a not good way, IMO. Also, I want to add, if you love to stack, don’t buy the new setting until you’ve figured out what you want to pair it with. You’ll never be happy with it if you can’t pair it with something and that’s your hearts desire. It is a gorgeous setting, I can see why you’d be drawn to it!

I too would think plain thin band but it would have to have some height to it so it wouldn’t slide up underneath the ring. Just a thought - maybe a plain solitaire setting for the diamond and diamond bands for stacking? Did the jeweler have any bands that he would recommend wearing with it?

I second this. I would decide if your love of stacking outweighs your love for this specific setting. I was recently in this situation and was initially looking at settings that looked great on their own....but then after trying several stacking options I decided that was my personal preference. Now I’m anxiously awaiting my new upgraded e-ring and anniversary ring to stack w my existing wedding band! Good luck in your decision making!! Just do what makes you happiest ❤️

I definitely agree! I don’t know why I can’t shake my preference to stack! I’m going to take a bunch of bands in to see if they work.

I actually do have a solitaire that works but I do know now that I’m not a plain solitaire kind of girl so I was drawn to this one bc it’s kind of both—bling and solitaire

Ummm. Now I’m anxiously awaiting your thread! Or do you already have one?

Yeah and unfortunately, this is the dilemma with a blingy solitaire if you want to wear a band with it. Just keep looking - I am sure you will find something that pairs well with it!

I keep thinking about some folks that have had a french cut engagement ring that is wider at the diamond and tapers down toward the back. What have they done for bands or did they just forego them? Since the shank of the ring is not uniform in size, I do think the wedding band will have to have some substance to it in both height and width so it doesn't get lost under the ring.

Same!!! I’m hunting down their threads! I do know that I am not a fan of a thick band stacked with a thick ring which is why this ring is giving me pause to think—even though I certainly appreciate it for what it is by itself! It’s funny. I have 2 sisters who recently upgraded their wedding ring and both chose a thick setting and both wear their ring without a band! And you know what? I love the look! Maybe I just need to come to terms with this look for myself, lol.

Well, it is cheaper to forego the band - lol!!

Not yet!! DK is in the process of custom making them. I’m so excited I can hardly wait. The e-ring will have my 3.2 carat center round brilliant diamond with eternity diamonds around the 2mm yellow gold shank with a platinum head. It’ll be paired with my 1.8 ct. platinum eternity band in the middle and a custom made yellow gold marquise eternity anniversary band with .5 ct accent diamonds.
