Hi everyone,

I am new to the world of radiants. I have been looking at this one:

http://www.exceldiamonds.com/diamond/272542.html

I think it looks nice and the price seems decent, but I don''t know much about buying radiants. Can anyone give me some advice?

Thanks in advance!!! :)

Welcome!

It looks like a nice radiant to me. I would ask the vendor if they can provide an ASET image if possible as that would be very helpful. The Idealscope image looks fine. It is preferable to have a girdle measurement of thin to slightly thick/ medium rather than extremely thick, but you do see this more commonly in fancy shapes than rounds. One thing though, you could drop the clarity to VS comfortably and still have a very clean diamond, but of course if VVS is personal preference then ignore that advice!

Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it!

If you''re bored :) here is the Exceldiamond.com page that has the stones I am choosing from. Are there any that are better than this one? I just want to make sure I make a good choice. If it helps, I am interested in a more square rather than rectangular stone.

What I would do is contact Excel, explain you are looking for a square shaped radiant and ask them which one might suit you, then to provide photos and ASET if possible, if not then Idealscope images.

And you are most welcome!

Karee, it would be easier if we keep to one thread, that way it is easier for us to refer to, thanks!

Sorry about that....I thought if I posted the ASET picture in a different thread, I might get people who were really good at examining the ASET who wouldn''t have read the original thread directed to radiant buffs. Thanks for the tip, it makes sense! :)

No worries! It is just easier to keep stuff in one thread to have all the info to hand conveniently!
