CADs for cushion reset

Any thoughts on these initial CADs from David Klass for my halo reset for my cushion cut stone? I wanted a floral side view and also wanted a wedding band to sit close to it. I'm not sure if the stone needs to be set higher to make that possible? Also, are the stones in the halo too big? I'm so bad at visualizing things. Any feedback very appreciated!

Yes. Tilt the halo downwards so that it follows the angle of the crown of the diamond -- and not just straight out like s flying saucer. [emoji12] ...sorry, I couldn't think of another way to explain it. [emoji16]

That's makes sense! Thanks for the visual. What do you think of the size of the diamonds in the halo (1 pointers). Too bad for a 1.07 carat stone?

I think you should find a halo ring that he has made in which you like the proportion of the halo to the center... Then have him duplicate those proportions to fit your stone. DK will adjust it to look right unless you specifically tell him you want X pt in the halo.

I would not want one pointers. Too big. 3/4 pointers would be better. Mine are 1/2 pointers on a one carat asscher (similar spread to cushion) and its perfect for me. I had one pointers originally and it was too large. Ask for smaller melee.

I agree with Gypsy. My old halo setting had 96 total stones, and was 0.69 ct. The melee were varying sizes, depending on placement... but none were even close to 1 pointers. Most were right around 3/4 pt or less (on an 8.7 mm center).
