CADS are in!

i am a bit late to the thread, but i love the design.

love the new design elements! it'll be beautiful!

As for the metal, was he concerned about the structural integrity of the ring in gold? Whatever you decide i think you should hold off telling him to go ahead with it until you actually know for certain. this is suppose to be completely made for YOU, so id hate for you to get it wit any reservations.

No, the platinum recommendation was just for the look. We are doing the plastic resin casting now, so I still have a few days to change my mind on the metal if I want to. I'm like 98% okay with platinum, but I just wanted to cover all of my bases and make sure there wasn't anything I was missing!

Love your design! And your diamond is stunning!

My complexion sounds like yours. Very pale with blue undertones. I think I look best in yellow gold but all my rings are platinum and I quite like it too. And platinum makes it easier to match bands if that's something you're interested in doing. However, I do have to add that I just love how the unplated WG looks on your hand in the picture. So, no help really, am I?

I just wanted to say go with your gut on the metal choice. I had a vendor "talk" me into a metal for my eternity band. And have been unhappy almost since I got the ring. It is two years later and now I am looking at a reset to get the metal I had wanted in the first place.

good luck cannot wait to see finished ring!

I love the new cads lia, this ring is going to be a knockout! I really can't wait to see it.

I probably can't help too much on the metal issue since I'm not really familiar with the look of unplated 18k - If you remember, I struggled with the metal for my ring too, but more because I was trying to stay at least close to my budget.

I do think you will be fine with the platinum - many people here at PS prefer it, it is beautiful and the most precious metal. All the high-end designers (LM, VC, SK) use it, and I just think it is luxurious and special. And if you don't care for the patina you can always have your ring polished on occasion to shine it up!

How did you like wearing your friend's ring? (good idea btw!) SO hard to tell you "what to do" on this, since it's your ring and it should look how you want it to. But my gut feeling is you will like the platinum, and it's a good choice.
