Buying Colored Diamond Online - My Brain Might Explode.Help?

Re: Buying Colored Diamond Online - My Brain Might Explode.H

I am going to offer another point of view.

I once owned a slightly over two carat Fancy Vivid Greenish - Yellow round diamond certified by GIA as natural in origin. When I spoke to GIA, they said that the color of that particular diamond showed that its origin was Brazil.

I loved it; I paid over 60,000 for it several years ago.

When the economoy collapsed and health problems hit, I had to sell it.

The first picture you have reminds me of the color of that diamond.

For a natural color diamond of that color the price would be very high.

I think the color is great.

The price migt be slightly high ~ I would think for HPHT around 5000 - 5500 would be the correct amount.

I have to say I really like the radiant at Diamonds by Lauren!!!

But, the price is close to 16,000.00

I purchased once from Diamonds by Lauren; the diamond was wall - to - wall sparkle!!!!

MissMarple, you're obviously a person of fine taste, because it's the color that's so intoxicating for me and it's definitely my girlfriend's favorite color of just about anything. I'd love to buy natural, but to get this particular color is nigh impossible on my budget. I'm trying to negotiate a lower price, although I'd love to find a a stone with a bigger "face" to show off, even if it means going for a shape other than princess.

I'm just so thrilled that you fine folks in this community have taken time out of your busy lives to research for me, post your expertise, and suggest things that you've found that seem to fit my parameters. It's a humbling experience.

Contact Leibish directly, explain to them what you're after, price range, etc and see what they say. I have had stones offered to me that were nowhere to be found on their website, once they had ascertained what it was I was looking for. Their inventory is staggering, and they do quite a bit of jeweler-based trade, hence all of their inventory not being listed. I think going directly to them would produce the most favorable outcome.

As Justginger recommended, I'm contacting Leibish directly to see what they have that might match my criteria. Some of the links you guys shared are awesome and are opening up whole new vistas for me to explore in my diamond hunt.

I also checked with the dealer of the initial diamond in question and I guess he misspoke with the dimensions. With the new numbers I was given today, the depth percentage is still 80 (so high) but not as high as the 90% the old numbers indicated.

If you can take your time.
Lots to learn in the FCD world.

Kenny, I'm taking just that approach. I've got more than a few months until my own self-imposed deadline. I've already contacted Leibish directly and they're looking for a suitable stone.

I've definitely decided to go with a real, natural stone. Thanks again for all the help from everyone. If anyone sees a viable yellow-green or green yellow stone, feel free to post and let me know!

I would ask over in man made diamonds too. I saw a great yellow green stone that would fit the profile and faces up bigger, but I don't think we are able to post these in rocky talky. It would also give you a better idea on pricing.

My apologises if this is somewhere I missed? But does it have to be diamond? I saw a stone that reminded me of your search that's a sapphire. Looked promising. And so much size for the budget.
