Hello,

I'm considering the following RB which is quoted by the company as perfect H&A. With my limited experience it appears to be steep/deep on the crown and depth, yet the pavilion at 40.8 seems to fall within an acceptable range. Is it possible for the pavilion to balance it out and the stone will have perfect H&A with minimal light leakage, or is it more likely that it is not H&A and will perform as the crown and depth suggests? Performance images are not provided.

Carat - 0.85
Measurements - 6.02 x 6.05 x 3.76
Colour - G
Clarity - SI1
Cut - ex
Cert - GIA
Depth - 62.4
Table - 58
Crown angle - 36
Pavilion angle - 40.8
Lower girdle 80
Polish - ex
Symm - ex
Fluro - N
Girdle-Facted 3.5
Cutlet - N

Thank you

Yeah, it's a bit deep, the table is big and the crown angle is also big. What's your budget? Are you buying online?

Hi,

The stone in question is from an online UK company that prides themselves in perfect H&A. I have also considered whiteflash as they appear to be more transparent. I don't necessarily require a perfect H&A stone but thought it might be a good way be sure of optimal cut/symmetry. I would however like a GIA xxx, or AGS ideal.

Do you have any suggestions?

The budget for the stone is around $5000usd.

This is spec I'm considering:

Carat - 0.85-0.90
Measurements - 6.05+
Colour - G
Clarity - VS2-SI1 eye clean
Cut - EX
Cert - GIA
Depth - 61 - 62.2
Table 55 - 58
Crown angle - 34 - 35.5
Pavilion angle - 40.6 - 41
Lower girdle 75 - 80
Polish - ex
Symm - ex
Fluro - N-F

It is possible to have hearts across a very wide range of proportions.
The depth here indicates that the stone will be on the upper limits of GIA rounding, unless it has a thick girdle.
It may still have H&A's but may not have as good a light return as a non H&A's with sweeter proportions.
