Bow tie? Is this a nice oval Diamond?

both pictures are snapshots from rotation clips from the 2 RC stones you linked to)

I would prefer the D if forced to choose... but both have the graining issue
Pull up both of their videos and watch the spin... E is worse.....
it could be the reason E is an E color vs a D
color is from the brown/orange vs traditional yellow

Again it's not a horrible thing but VVS are priced higher and your icy white diamond high clarity might not be a great as it could be....

Ideally you find a stone without graining....

This one?

What do you think of this one?

I like this one...the only thing is that I cant tell if it has earmuffs. I think it looks really good under the table.

I am sorry but what are earmuffs?

bow ties are dark areas in the middle
ear muffs are dark areas at the tips of ovals...

Maybe you want a round diamond instead ?
Much easier :)

@tyty333 @freddyboston
I can’t tell if the ends are dark. There are some dark spots I see when it rotates, but they move. Is this what you mean? Do you like this stone better than the d color vvs1 above? I thought this Oval (I think with 4mains) looked really bright, and the facet pattern seemed more “all together”

really - we are not considering demanding ASET as a solution for this battle?

Will the 4 main pattern cause more of a bowtie?

I asked, they only offered images in person and with tweezers

Once diamonds leave India all the overseas wholesalers delete the original information.
Some will still have access to it but their sales people are incapable of that level of intelligence as are 99% of retail sales people.
John Pollard bashed his head against this brick wall training and a month later retraining sales people across USA.
The AGS gave up trying to train their members retail and wholesale and I believe even most appraisers were turned off.
The best way is to find virtual stones still in India.

Now I'm thinking that it doesnt have earmuffs...here are a few examples of stones with various forms of earmuffs.
(darkness at the far ends)

I would ask the Sales Associate about it for the .90. You will probably need to tell them what you consider earmuffs (that's a PS term
and not a general diamond industry term).

Maybe we can get @Karl_K to reply...he is really busy though. Karl...can you tell if this stone has "earmuffs"?

This one above is a different new one I posted
This belief is one I posted before that you thought had ear muffs

No wonder I was getting confused! I don't think the G has earmuffs.

Do you still prefer the.90, D, vs1?, it seemed crisper.. but you weren’t sure about ear muffs, or do you prefer the.90, G, Vs1?

Since many vendors don't offer them, I hardly think to ask for them anymore.

Old testament?
Don't ask and ye shall not receive?
Guess what, if everyone asks more will receive.

Be nice if the online vendors started requiring it - BN and JA get the great imaging ~ wouldn't be stretch to throw in an ASET as well.....

don't some of the imaging machines have the ability already built in ?
for that matter ideal world for Naturals would be if all stones had an online Diamond DNA..... rough -> finished and all the bells and whistles

Partial, probably not very eye catching in person.
Remember these videos show them at the worst.
Obstruction is high and there is little green zone in ASET lighting neither of which are real world realistic..

That diamond is in India.
Also JA and BN often have the ASET or Ideal-scope files or can take them.

Well thought the above g was good but it has internal graining. I’m about to just give up. I really liked the d VS1 but Karl said has ear muffs. What do you think of this one I found? Posting below

I think the G VS1 is a nice stone. At a VS1, I would not eliminate it due to internal graining.

I think I stated this before...

"So, let me say, you (me/anybody) can pick apart almost any oval (minus, super ideals) and you'll end up with nothing. You have
to decide what is tolerable to you. Hard, I know."

Just curious on this video- when it shows bow tie area reflecting bright or colored light, is it a good thing regarding a minimal bow tie?

Question- if the video shows bright or colored light reflecting back at you in the “bow tie” area, is this good, meaning the bow tie will be minimal with good contrast in the faceting? I am waiting to see this one in person. I thank you for your time.

so you ordered the .90 E VVS2 ? - i see it's off market
that one could be nice.... are they sending it to you loose or to be set ?

Really hard to read too much with just a video...Maybe once it arrives the vendor can check / image it with an ASET or Ideal-scope...

I ordered it to be set in a halo platinum ring but I’m second guessing it- of course analysis paralysis- and wondering if I should ask to see it thru videos/pics/tweezers or anything else they have before it’s set.

I thought the bright light reflecting back in that area was likely a good thing and this one actually had a Gia plot of stone on the certificate which was rare for under a carat..

@freddyboston
Have you heard of White Lily vendor thru Rare Carat? I received email this morning saying stone that I purchased Friday wasn’t available. I’ve tried finding this vendor without luck.. wondering if they even exist.
