Pretty cool! I say get them, because when labour fees rise even further over the years, so will these pieces!

Meaning of red hot chili peppers below :)

Thanks! Yeah found this in English:

“Chilli Pepper”- (辣椒) – Chilli pepper plants are associated with turning around money luck towards the better, especially for business. It is a symbol of prosperity, happiness, good luck and abundance blessings. It is said to be able to bring great wealth and fortune to the bearer that owns it - (椒财招财).

Found this on the Li Hong site

Finally set my 3.5ct cushion tsav (cushion on middle finger) and thought to take a look against other greens - clockwise: jadeite cab, Ethopian emerald, tsav, tsav.

As usual the color is odd but greens have always been a challenge for me to photograph properly. I think the tsav looks way better irl and I love that sheen/glow (?) when it catches the light…

Thank you! Yes it does look like bows right? Surprisingly girly - wasn’t quite expecting that when I picked the setting out to see irl.

Am just very glad to finally set the tsav. Got it in 2019 and have been looking for a suitable setting for the stone all this time (as it’s really too pretty to leave unset).

Oh love the Tsav! You have such impeccable style. Those reds though. I'm not a red girl but seeing how you rock them I could be swayed. What sort of stone is the far right pointer finger?

Such nice colors!

Thanks! So colorful and happy right? They really cheer me up. I mean, they look even better irl.

That’s also a rubellite. A red one. The new one I got is pinkish red. The cushion on my little finger is a Mahenge spinel. Brought them along as comparative while shopping. Irl I never wear red clothes either but the tourmalines are irresistible when they glow.

Thank you! I think this caps rubellites for me. No more rubellites so better choose the bigger one (and cos I’m a size ho). If money is no object I don’t mind getting all 3! They are all slightly different - one is clean/sparkly and purple, smaller one is pinkish-orange and mine is pinkish-red. All lovely.

Love the new stone! I feel much relived to know I’m not the only one who has multiple iterations of the same colour. I tried to be really strict and only buy “new” stones if I didn’t have anything similar. And failed dismally. Your diversity of halos are just gorgeous.

Beautiful! What's the big red stone in the holder in the last picture on your ring finger, and the other unset stone on your middle finger? Is the first the 9ct rubellite, and the other also a rubellite?

Hehe, it certainly does when it glows in the sun!

Ok, in theory it’s a different color! It’s pinkish-red. My mahenge is pink, my other rubellite in the ring is red, and this is pinkish-red! I actually used that to justify my latest purchase. Hahahah.

Re: halos, yes I’m such a “halo everything girl” lol.

Yes the 9 ct rubellite - the pics are of the stones in different light. The other unset stones are also rubellite, different colors.

These rubellites really look like rubies in the pictures. I can't say I've seen a lot of rubellite in person, so don't know much about them in real life. Does it look great in different lightings? Does it look better indoors or out? How does it compare to rubies and garnets?

I really want to get a rubellite some day. I love red/pink stones and with rubellite, a nice big stone that gives good finger coverage (for my fat fingers) :kiss2:

I think I would like the rubellite as a solitaire myself. It has the eye-catching colour and size for that. But I'm aware Icy likes halos (me too for that matter!)

Actually, even a small one would be nice!

A small rubellite would make a more realistic ruby lookalike. But only the red red ones, that are not so easy to find.

My latest purchase is pinkish-red so imo not as ruby looking. But my red rubellite comes close.

Above is my red rubellite with a 3ct ruby. I mean irl clearly tourmalines and rubies behave differently under different lighting types and I don’t think rubellite can beat a top of the range ruby. But for the price, and if you like red, really quite “bang for the buck” so to speak. Both this rubellite as well as my red spinel has been mistaken as ruby before.

Yes I like halos very much. Once in a while maybe not needed but generally I don’t say no to halos.

@icy_jade Thanks for your response. Even if pinkish red, still look quite like a pinkish red ruby - at least in the picture.

Actually in the photo with the 3ct ruby, I think the rubellite stands out more, but that could be because of the halo.

I don't have a rubellite so I don't kow in what way it performs differently to rubies, but maybe they look brownish indoors or something...

Though this isn't a traditional halo, I quite like this style:

I also like the diamond halo (can we call it that) on the lower ring of the ring finger in the pic:

Also, a simple classic/antique like halo would be nice too.

Nevermind me, I'm just living vicariously through other people's shopping :mrgreen2:

No brown, but irl is more pinkish. Tourmaline looks flatter in certain lighting compared to rubies.

So… am quite excited about these though still in a bit of shock over the earrings purchase:

Shaded (tropical) sun/natural light:

In the store:

On the ear (yes I blurred the pic and pls excuse all the stray hairs!):
B69F2D51-65FD-4169-82B2-6C362BEE856C.jpeg

Has to go for certification and adjustment to convert the omega backs (so painful to wear omg) to usual studs so will be a while longer before I have them.

Edited to clarify only the earrings are new…

Oh my dear lord, they are SPECTACULAR! What a set!

Is the ring convertible to pendant with a detachable bale?
