Prong, hands down! I feel that the bezel setting makes the diamond look smaller in this sort of case (not just in this particular example, because I don''t know the size of the diamonds in the pic), probably because the bezel defines where the diamond stops and the halo begins. For this reason I prefer prong set stones with halos.
me too me too me too me too!!!

Is milligrained an option? If so, that''s what I''d prefer. If not, definitely the bezel. I think the idea is for the stone and halo to lie flatter together. The prong setting looks a bit off kilter to me.

I like prong set the best. A little too much metal on the other one.
ditto! The prong is more delicate and shows the diamond off better.

I like the prong, mostly because I like settings that highlight the center stone. Either one makes a beautiful ring. : )

bezel all the way!

i think the prong makes it too busy.

it''s a lovely ring, regardless.

Personally I like the bezel better, it seems to flow better on that style of ring (granted both are beautfiul)

The prongs make the diamond look a tad bigger, but the bezel is more stylish, and it''s set more apart from the pave so it looks less busy.

THAT''S IT! Oh, thanks, Mrs. S......it was driving me CRAZY that I couldn''t find it. Knew I''d seen it fairly recently and couldn''t put my finger on it.

I prefer the prong set version, but if bezel was the choice, I think the milligrain bezel is gorgeous and much more fluid/soft than the regular bezel.

I have a four prong RB in a halo and I LOVE it because it makes my diamond look hhhhhhhhuge.

I have long fought over this same thing on my ring design. I decided to go with a bezel and I think you should do the same. The prong side view seems a little too high for me. The bexel adds definition to the diamond and is much more of a smooth look in my opinion.

Good luck!

HI:

BUMP

I cannot decide whether I want the bezel or the prong setting myself! I like the clean lines of the bezel but like the height of the prong setting. How to decide??

cheers--Sharon
