Best place to look at ring/settings in TORONTO?

Hi all,

I am not looking for a diamond in Toronto, but rather I am hoping to see a lot of rings/settings. Are there any stores in downtown Toronto that have many many settings available for viewing? I would like to avoid big chains (e.g., Peoples), but I am open to suggestions. Out of downtown is also acceptable if the store is truly remarkable.

Any ideas would be appreciated! Moved here recently, so not knowledgeable about the area. I did a Google search and looked at maps and such, but almost no way to differentiate the bad from the good!

Thanks

Spence is a great place to start. They usually have a great selection of settings (with fake diamonds), which you can try on as you please. They give you a tray so you can compare your favourites (and so they can keep an eye on what you're doing without stalking you). I think there's one in North York and Scarborough. It really helped me to narrow down my choices when I first went ring shopping. :twirl:

Cool thanks guys! Keep them coming

PS. I tried to send you an email CharmyPoo

A warning to folks reading .. Spence Diamonds may be good for browsing but do not buy from there. Tons and tons of horror stories around.

A few other thoughts - Tiffany, Birks, Cartier ... always great to start. I guess you should just go to Yorkdale Mall - they are all there along with People's, European Jeweler and a bunch of other places.

Engage Diamond Studios in North York. Lots of rings in open cases for you to try on.

Diamond District
Jewelry Exchange across the Eatons Center with lots of choices - http://www.1stjewelleryexchange.ca
Jewelry Building Basement - 55 Queen Street

+1 for the Jewellery Exchange. Also, just a little north of there, facing onto Dundas Square, is another large "jewellery mall" kind of set up. Between those two places, you'll have scads of rings to try on!

Take me with you! LOL. I love NOTHING more than bling shopping!

Also +1 re: Spence. Just their radio commercials would be enough to put me off!

+1 regarding Spence (and by the way, I'm one of those people with a horror story)

+1 Spence - definitely avoid!
