Yep it''s a round 0.97 most of my budget would go on the stone though and I wouldnt have much left for the setting. But i''m more worried about getting a good stone than getting a good setting which I can maybe sort out later on...

Last night I went to a place in London that had horrendously cut stones...! They were HRD certified which they claimed was better than GIA, thats not true is it?
 
I would spend more on the diamond than the setting as you can always get a nicer setting later on.. for an anniversary or birthday. But thats my personal feeling. You might prefer a more special setting. As for the certification, I will let one of educated posters chime in. I don''t know a lot about the different labs.

In Europe, HRD is quite a good lab, on par with GIA/AGS on color and clarity grading. Apparently stones that managed to get across the Atlantic not so much.

Ah ok, when I got home I plugged the numbers into HCA and it came back with 5.6

I dont think that''s a good thing..............!
