Garry, do you have a movie/.gem file of the #4 pear? I am wondering how does it compare to the pear you use as a comparison in this thread. Thanks.

seems we can start totalizator business at least in this cut race .

...not sure if I understand the meaning, and unfortunately, my follow up thread didn''t get much action, but isn''t this part below importantly related....(?)

-----------------

"For any given diamond...forget any particular shape...the brilliance (see other discussion as to how you wish to map brilliance/fire/scintillation onto beauty and preference) of the diamond when compared to another given diamond will only tell you how you like this one diamond over another.

This does not tell you about the relative performance of a group of diamonds in a group of shapes.

For a given shape, there is possibly or probably a slope to suggest the maximum beauty vs the rate of descension based on the nature of the shape to begin with.

Probably, rounds have it by the numbers, including the science, and the experience cutters bring to it. Personally, I picked a round as dead last in Garry''s list of diamonds. Is that supposed to influence my predisposition about preference for shapes?"

RG, I think it''s as important to know WHY they liked the diamonds in the order they did.

For example, the diamonds I selected as my top choices were my preference because of facet arrangement, not because of shape.

Excuse my ignorance, but Cushion 2 is a modern cushion, correct? Can you explain the cut of that one to me?

Hi Jelly,
These will become available in time.
This is the first ever cut.
The Cut group have been working on some new cushions and several have the potential to have better light return and or fire than tolkowsky RBC''s

Quite exciting really.
