I had / have (still trying to sell) a 1.43 G SI1 AVC. It was gorgeous, but for some reason it didn't make my heart sing. I can appreciate it for it's beauty and perfection, it just wasn't the right cut for me. I now have a 1.767ct H VS1 AVR, and it's more "me". I love the flowery facets, and the way those large facets sparkle is just mesmerizing.
I've had both (my 1.72 J AVR is my avatar), but I sold the AVC because of financial issues. I plan to buy another AVC someday, hopefully a large one! I love my AVR for the same reasons as @ecf8503! Efc, your AVC is dreamy, BTW!!
I got an AVC and ended up exchanging it for an AVR. I realized that I liked the shape of cushions but I did not like the Maltese cross that AVCs (and other signature antique cushions) exhibited. I strongly prefer the look of the AVRs- the flower petal facets can’t be beat!
Oh, I love this thread! lol! It's fun to see the other AV stones! I am trying to decide on a new setting, and I love seeing the settings everyone has chosen!
I think I've just always had a round for my main engagement ring, and it would be hard for my primary ring not to be a round. Most of you know my excruciating journey to finally end up with this stone! I've since picked up an small yellow AVC cut by Yoram and a light yellow AVR. I think my big regret is not getting a large AVC when they were accessible, because I would love to have one.
I watched a lot of videos of both AVRs and AVCs. I always felt drawn to the big, broad facets of the AVC. I have owned an AVR and a "Premium Vintage" Cushion from GOG. I traded up the AVR for the cushion. Later on I ended up buying another OEC. I prefer my cushion over my OEC.
Between an AVR and AVC, I would go with an AVC unless you've always preferred the round shape.
