Wow UCLAbelle! That is one beautiful asscher, considering you saying you don''t know that much about asschers! Did you pick it out, or did your hubby pick it out?

Jcrow-unfortunately I don''t have my ring yet. I''m still searching! It really is difficult to find the right stone, especially an asscher. I found one that was perfect, but had to let it slip through my fingers....so sad!

The love of my life picked it out...I am very lucky!

Thanks so much for the kind words...Makes me love my diamond even more!!!

Thanks for the advice. UCLA- your ring is a beauty!

my BF is callling Tiffany''s and Cartier to see if they can get the 2 carat stones in for this weekend, or if they have them on hand.

The setting i am interested in for the RB is a 6-prong classic high set with no side stones. if it were to be an asscher, i would want a high set solitaire with double claw prongs (four) - i think thats what it''s called. i haven''t seen an asscher set this way yet. Usually it''s with other stones. Hopefully it can be done?

Jcrow-

Go here to look at lovey''s ring:

She has the 4 prong claw look. I love that look at well! If you do a search on show me the ring forum for asschers, all sorts of asscher rings will show up. I tried an asscher in a halo setting, and although beautiful, I didn''t think it look right on my finger, or quite suited me as a person. Not the right look for me.

I''m looking for either a simple band with small side baguettes or a plain band, like the X prong, but with a tulip head. I have to find the pics. The man''s computer crashed, so most of my asscher pics need to be recovered. All that hard work too!!!!

I have another funny story about asscher shopping. I went to this local B&M store to look at asschers and they had this gorgeous asscher in a thin tiny tiny pave setting. It was stunning! I asked to try it on and was immediately taken away. I asked for the price of the diamomd, and the woman flipped over the tag and said, 8,700. I was floored! I was like, that''s it?! No way! This reaction didn''t phase the woman. Then my little sister tried the ring on, and asked how much, and the lady again said 8,700. She stood up and said, that''s it?! Why is it so cheap?! That response shook the lady up, and she looked at the tag and said, oh! I''m sorry! That''s just for the setting! Darn! I was on the phone already calling the man over so he could come and buy the ring on the spot! Turns out the diamond was a 1.75 carat asscher for which I guessed was worth at least 25,000, but for what I remember, the sales lady told me 40,000.

It was a G color asscher, don''t know the specs.

Ah! Soooo close!!!!!

I like this setting as well, but the band looks a little on the thick side for me.

UCLABelle------ Please tell me you have pics of the rings????!!!

i am looking for a 2 ct. I keep going back and forth btw an asscher, cushion and round....

callista---

i guess what it boils down to is that my mother''s e-ring was a very high (or at least i think) 6 prong Tiffany style setting. I always tried it on when i was little and dreamed my e-ring would look like that one day. No side stones. Just a highly-set sparkly solitaire. Her''s was a RB. Now though, i am seeing wonderful asschers and cushions. i love those cuts too. However, i haven''t seen pics of these cuts as a plain ole solitaire.

sorry to bring this post back up again- but i finally have pics of my mom''s ring i was talking about. i don''t know to much about it. i brought it in once to a jeweler. this is what i remember him saying. a little over a carat, G color.
