Are you really picky with your music? Or do you like a lot of things?

HI:

Love a variety! Except for Kraftwerk. lol

cheers--Sharon

Yes it’s one of my favorites too. I LOVE this song. Powerful. :appl:

Ah yes.
Me too.
I perform Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah (ala Jeff Buckley) with my Gibson ES-335.
Few songs feel better for me to sing.

I love Leonard Cohen. His voice was amazing to me, and I found it so soothing. I particularly like "Tower of Song".

Just linking the original here. This gets me every time. One of the most beautiful songs written. RIP Leonard Cohen.

and a few more Leonard Cohen masterpieces.

All of his songs just haunting masterpieces. LOVE him.

Adding another haunting masterpiece IMO.

I'll respond better later to everyone.

Thank you so much everyone for sharing your songs I am really enjoying seeing what everyone likes, and hearing new artists and songs for the first time! :appl:

I hope you are too.

missy, I tried to pick a variety of songs that I like and don't get tired of listening to.

There's No One Like you by Scorpions

Love isn't always on time by Toto

Contra La Corriente by Marc Anthony

Come Unto Me by The Mavericks

I am really, really selective with slow songs...but some I really like.

Hurt by Christina Aguilera

No music preference thread would be complete without a few by my beloved Eva Cassidy of the golden voice. Died so young and so tragically. I'll try to get a range here. She sang everything. Well.

(I have her range and used to sing some of her versions of songs. Alas, my voice is pretty much gone now. sad :(( )

Ah, and what do I like about her? Beautiful covers that highlight the voice, lots of range in the music she chooses, and lots of dynamic changes. She goes effortlessly from soft chest to mid voice or a full belt.
I love everything about her voice.

Autumn Leaves

Time is a Healer

Fine and Mellow

Somewhere

Bold Young Farmer (warning: this one is sad!)

Looking forward to listening to the linked songs when I have time!
What I want to listen to depends on my mood. Sometimes, I want it quiet with no music on at all.

So of course I had to go and look it up I found one song of a robot something.

Looking forward to listening to the linked songs when I have time!

I like it quiet most of the time too.

If you're up to it do post a favorite song.

ksinger sorry to hear about your voice :blackeye: did something happen to your vocal chords (if you don't mind sharing) or just normal course of ageing (not sure how old you are though.) And thanks for explaining what you like makes it so much more interesting. And makes me realize I know nothing about singing so it gives me a new level of awareness and appreciation for all that must be involved.

Again thank you all for sharing some of your favorite songs.

Keep sharing if you come up with more!

LOVE Leonard Cohen. Could listen to him anytime!

Like others, I hope to pay attention to this thread when I have more time for it. I usually concentrate on a holiday music thread in December and I cannot focus on this thread at the same time. I love music, however, and my taste is very eclectic. In another forum where I used to be active, I was extremely active in a thread about music.

Pricescope is a treasure trove for me. I find many of the books I end up reading in the threads about books and I find many pieces of music which I never knew existed in the holiday music threads. I really enjoy how much knowledge there is in this community. I think the people here are unusually smart and talented.

I'm right there with you, Deb!

And I totally understand not being able to pay attention to too many threads!

Come back any time you can, and enjoy any new discoveries. :))
