I am. I have bought quite a few goodies since joining PS and have made a grand total of 1 SMTB thread. :oops:

I tried to start a similar thread here in the hangout with a bunch of crappy phone pics of my stuff, but it didn't catch on.

I haven't done any SMTB threads because, well, I'm embarrassed that my pictures are only cheesy phone snaps. That and my jewels aren't that impressive really. It's all the same old stuff we've seen a hundred times.
So I'm a bit odd, I know. I like to hang out and look at jewellery and talk a bit with you guys about jewels and other things, but don't share my own 'jewels'. Bad PSer! :evil: :))

Is anyone else a bad PSer? Are you withholding pictures of your bling? Why?
 
At first, I thought, "no."

Then, I realized, yes. I have a number of pearls (some studs, and a strand of 10mm Catherine Cardellini freshwaters that I wear all the time), some Tiffany pieces (esp. an aquamarine DBTY ring--its such a perfect, delicate look), and maybe some other tiny things here and there. I just hadn't posted anything because it didn't seem "big" enough. Now I wonder if I should? Maybe the CC pearls--they are so versatile!
 
I have a backlog going right now, but only the best of intentions! In my own defense, I seem to have inadvertently pre-bought through New Years ... ;)
 
Yes I have some things I have not posted for various reasons.

I have a special ring that was custom that I don't want to post because of the whole copying debacle. This ring has a lot of significant meaning to me so I just don’t' want to see another pop up. We have already debated this point so I won't go on.

A few other things that I have in the works but haven't brought up because I just don't feel RT is what it used to be. Before I would have posted asking for assistance with design ideas and other setting elements. Now I feel if I posted it would just fall off or I would just get a lot of "that would be great" or "it's pretty" etc....nothing really helpful.

And then laziness can also kick in as I hate taking photos and they never really seem to come out well. :nono:
 
I just set a 5mm OEC in a right hand ring but haven't posted. Its really pretty and I love it but, its no 9mm stone in
A VC, LM or SS so it just doesn't seem like a big deal on PS. Maybe we should create a single thread to post items that
People don't really feel like need their own thread? I wouldn't know what to call it but I'll post if someone wants to start it!
 
How about 'Show Me Your Little Bling'? For those small pieces that you are proud of.
'Show Me The Bling Quick Snaps' for those of us with no nice camera or who have a big dose of lazy.

For the custom pieces one is hesitant to show, I understand wanting to keep a design for yourself. I do wish, however, that there was some way to show it off to us die hard fans. Maybe post a picture for 24 hours in a hangout thread? It might be too much of a nuisance for our lovely mods though.
 
Tyty and Jane - I love your thoughts. Most of my nice gems are small (5 to 6.5 mm) and very simply set - I would definitely post in a thread like you're suggesting!!
 
Yes. I haven't posted any of my new bands. Too lazy to take and resize/upload pics!
 
A little bling thread sounds like a neat idea!

The only thing I would worry about is that the pieces on it would not be easily searchable. One of the benefits that I really appreciate of a unique thread, overall, is that its easier to find a particular piece, but if a little bling thread helps get people going and posting, I think it would be a great addition!
 
I'm a little bit bad, though partially by force.
No one has really seen my diamond pendant, but that's b/c I don't think it's as exciting as many of the pendants on here.
My first group of pieces I got (which are also some of my more commonly worn pieces) are lower quality from chain stores.
My promise ring has been posted.
My emerald cut has been posted.
I haven't posted my strung pearl strand, for shame. My unstrung pearls will be posted when I finally string them.
I have loose gemstones I've never posted, mostly b/c I want to do something with them someday, and want it to be a big bang.

By force, I don't get to post my engagement ring until he has asked, per his request. ;( ;( :angryfire: :angryfire:
 
A little bling thread is a great idea! I love to see it all.

I've relied on this great site to answer so many of my questions and hold my hand through some nerve wracking purchases that I do feel super guilty about not starting my own thread.
I know that I should because it is all the great macro and 'real life' photos from PSers that have helped me make my own decisions, but I'm rubbish at taking good photos of my stuff and even more terrible at using the technology to post them.
....I promise to start a thread ASAP. :appl:
 
I've posted most of my stuff eventually but never in a SMTB thread. It usually just winds up in some random thread discussing something.

It may be my lack of skill or it may be the camera in the cell phone, but my pictures never turn out. Everything looks dull. No sparkle to the diamonds. Beautiful blue sapphires look black...

For those of you who don't want to start your own thread (even though I think you should :cheeky: ), how about the Eye Candy folder that's a sticky in Show Me the Bling? Good idea or no?
 
Guilty. I only do cell phone pics which I never feel are good enough. I also get really stressed out doing a SMTB thread because I can't keep up with thanking everyone who comments or answering questions. IRL I'm very outgoing and loquacious but don't enjoy typing. I don't want to appear rude so I just skip doing threads. I have a few pieces little pretties I could share. :))

I am guilty, I have only bought 1 new piece of jewelry that I have shared here and there in various threads, but I have not started its own thread, I guess I haven't posted because I don't feel it pricescope worthy, heck I never even got it appraised and it has no real papers, it was an impulse buy and now I have some regret..but I do own it and I do like it...but I don't know if I will ever start a thread for it.

There is so much beautiful jewelry on this site that the jewelry I do have doesn't even begin to compete with any of it, so I just don't try. :oops:

Thanks Dee Jay! The only reason I suggested Eye Candy is because it's a sticky and won't get buried, but a separate thread is really a better idea - hopefully there will be lots of additions soon! :appl:

I like the Eye Candy idea but since it had the "Engagement Ring" part in the title I was afraid people wouldn't post the kind of things we're talking about here. Like the Random Comment Thread, we'll just have to keep bubbling this one back up. Fortunately PSers tend to be *active* enough in the new bling department that we shouldn't have a problem! :cheeky:

I am a very bad PS'r! I got some royalty level bling at my indian wedding and haven't started a thread on them yet. my white wedding is in 2 weeks so I've been swamped with planning!

I am a good PSer! Whenever I get something new I can't wait to take photos and show it off in SMTB. BUT, I do have a bunch of nice but small stuff that I didn't think was good enough for SMTB. But now we have the Random Bling thread! :appl:
