appraised diamond different from GIA cert?

anyone had the experience of having the numbers/specs of their independently appraised diamonds to be different from that of the GIA cert? I''m not talking different GIA numbers here but maybe something like a different colour, carat wt or something else...

it happens from time to time.
grading is way too subjective.
