I didn't read the article. Just piping in to agree with the cost of cleaning a house. In college I cleaned houses, the 2 bedroom on-campus "cottages" that the young professors usually rented. For a medium sized 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house I was paid $50-$60 weekly. This was nearly 15 years ago and I was considered cheap labour. I could see a family house easily costing $200 and more to clean.

Housekeeping is very costly where we live and we find it worth the time to do it ourselves...with the pretext that my boys get to practise some useful life skills too. :bigsmile: I don't think most people can afford to hire others to mow the yard 2x a week, a financial planner to balance the books and etc, which are akin to the examples he used.
