Want to make sure that if i spring for plat i am getting a good strong product, and thoughts on each company's plat?

I have a platinum ring from BE (back when it was ERD) and it's plat/ruth mix and it has scratched pretty easily, unfortunately. I wish I had asked for the plat/ird mix (I have another ring from a different vendor with that mix that has held up better).

You have to request it if you want one of the harder alloys. Here they are (some ringmakers prefer one over the other, but either is fine and scratch resistant than the standard 95%platinum/5%iridium, which I avoid for rings).

Best:

95% platinum/5% ruthenium

90% platinum/10% iridium

I have items in both of these and cannot tell the difference.

I have the first option diamondseeker lists, and love it. My previous ring with 5% iridium got SO scratched up - I'm hard on my hands though.

I have the first option as well - 5% Ru per Diamondseeker's recommendations for a ring made by BE and I like it a lot!

I have ordered a setting with CVB and Caysie also recommended the second alloy (90/10). She said 90/5 with iridium was much too soft. Good to know, especially with a setting with no diamonds (all metal). [emoji1360]

Thank you so much everyone! Diamond seeker, thank you especially for answering my other post too. I think be and bgd use 95/ and 5% ruth now and whiteflash uses 95 or 90 with irid from what they emailed me.
