Good afternoon - Our 15yr is coming up and I am planning to upgrade my Wife's .5 Oval solitaire to an oval 3 stone. I plan to use the existing stone as one of the side stones and add an 80-85pt center oval. I have been looking on JA as well as BrianGavin for some options. Below are some of the stones I am considering. Your opinion is most welcome.

Current stone is a 53pt F Vs2.

Please help me out with your perception of the bow tie, value, etc.

Looking at a classic 3 stone setting.

Also, I am looking at around $1,650 all in for the setting alone. That includes redesign to fit ovals and to set my current stone. Is that in the ballpark for a good value?

Hi and congrats on your upcoming anniversary! Super sweet that you want to do something so special for your wife!!

I'm not an oval expert but I can tell you that IS or ASET images would be a lot more helpful than these static pics. We also need the dimensions of your wife's current stone because that's what matters with fancy cuts like ovals. (Ex. 1. you could potentially find an oval of lower carat weight with the same face up size, or a larger one with a smaller face up size; 2. some ovals are chubbier, some are skinnier).

Also, that third oval looks super tinted (could just be the photography) but that one would probably have a noticeable color difference than your current stone.

No on that H...can I ask why you are using BGD? They dont typically do oval (or most fancy cut) stones. Really helps if you
have a place that rotates the stones like James Allen. Unfortunately JA doesnt have an oval 3 stone. You might call them and ask
if they can get one.

Stuller (which most jewelers can get) has 3 stone oval settings...dont know if JA can get it for you.

Here are a few at JA that look good...

Edit...just noticed that your wife's current stone is an F so I thought I would post some F colored stones

Thanks for the reply. Some more info: the 50pt stones were selected to match the dimensions of my current stone, and appear to be very close.

Current stone is a 6.39 x 4.69 x 2.88
Table 57%
Depth is 61.4%

I know it is hard to see a bow tie in a still image, but I'm unsure what I am looking at.

So many of the ovals are over seas still and I am not having a lot of luck getting actual images. I know the images I posted were more to show visible inclusions and patterning. That third image looks dark over all, I agree. I'm not reading a lot into the tint just yet.

That H is showing darkness in the middle of the stone (why I say no to it). This stone is shallow and looks like it is suffering due to it.
Not to mention this stone has lots of mush. (Bright facets do not extend far enough north and south.)

You want to minimize the "mushy" facets circled in green and have the bright facets extend as far north and south as possible
as shown by the red arrows.

This is one of the half carats I pointed out to you. Minimal mush, lots of crisp well defined facets.
