It does ''face-up'' very well in the setting. When I saw it in the temporary setting I chose this diamond versus a lower quality 1.51 ct. When you look at it, for some reason the size difference (although still noticeable) is not as large as I anticipated. I sacrificed size for better quality (D/VS2 vs G/SI1).

Also, the side stones are F/G color with a total carat weight of 0.58.

Be patient! I am waiting to May when we go on a mini-vacation and we are all alone. I have figured out how I plan to propose and I believe it will be worth the wait!

Diamondseeker:

The jeweler (or one of the jewelers at the store who raved about his ''sophisticated'' camera) took the second set of pictures. When I tried to take them the first time, I saw my skills were less than adequate. Hopefully my cousin (pro photographer) will do it justice.

That being said, I need a lot of practice. Once I give her the ring, I will get a lot of it. She is quite photogenic, so I suspect she will want to take many photos of the ring.

Ditto! How sad for that pretty ring to sit at the jewelers!!!

Taking pictures just takes a little practice. You need to learn to use the macro. Natural light is easiest to deal with at first.
