The stone def look great ! But your original stone from the pics almost identical , I got lost who I one is which. I would not spend 5500$ for the almost the same look. I would get ideal earrings

So he’s letting me try it out this weekend! Please feel free to chime in!

I completely agree. That's a chunk of money to have "not a lot" of difference. I still say keep the one you have.

Can you see a visual difference Nala?

Only you can decide if it’s worth it to you!

That being said, I’m driving myself insane trying to find a stone when everything seems to come back over 2 on the hca or has inclusions I’m not happy with... or more expensive than the budget allows!

This diamond gig is hard! It’s hard to tick all the boxes so we need to work out which ones we can live without ticking!

So far, it looks different. Lighter in color. Significantly. Bigger. And I swear I just got blinded by the sparkles is threw at me. Gonna test it out in different lighting

So in one of the pictures, is your stone the one in the cushion halo and the new stone in the round halo?

In the first set of pics, yes. In All the last ones the new one is set in my cushion halo. Can you tell the difference?

Yes, I can see a difference. Tell us about the new stone - size, color, clarity vs your current stone please!

I posted the certificate. Here it is again.

In one picture it looks brighter, in another no. Is it eye clean to you? Maybe you can take some more pictures of it tomorrow.

There is no question that it is brighter! And as far as eye clean, it compares equally to mine.

Well, you are lucky to be able to 'test drive' it for a weekend! Take it in all kinds of lighting before you make up your mind. Would you set it in a halo setting?

If I keep it, I will leave it as is in my halo

This new stone definitely looks better cut to me and brighter, especially in the center. $5,500 is not chump change but there is no risk of a recut and you're going larger instead of smaller like you would with a recut...

A recut would potentially buy you into the BG upgrade policy depending on how it comes out though which is quite tempting...

I agree that going up to a 2.52 is better than going to to possibly a 2.08. As to the upgrade policy by BG, I’m not really tempted bc I just did a quick search and the potential to upgrade would not make it financially mind clean for me! Bc After my recut, to upgrade to a 2.7 g vs, I would have to pay almost double what I’ve paid for my stone!!! That’s is not going to happen

The new stone looks great! Sorry if I missed it, what diameter,.colour and clarity are your old stone?

Lol. My old stone is a 2.20 Gia I color si2 clarity with a 5.6 hca score and mm is 8.31 by 8.36

That's a 9.1% increase in surface area size which is pretty good going, particularly that it looks bigger due to better cut, with an 'pseudoupgrade' in colour, from the top, due to better light return.

This is a really nice photo. Would love to see the idealscope as well.

Getting the chance to spend the weekend with both stones is the best situation but I'd certainly say this seems a better investment than recutting.

Idk how to take a good pic of idealscope lol

I appreciate your input. I will admit that the difference is not as striking as I had anticipated! Hca score is a 1.4 and I’m not swooning, yet.

This being the reality, I'd go for the new stone! Try taking an ideal scope photo but it much better numbers. You're fine with I color and it's eye clean enough for you, it's BIGGER so you're upgrading inadvertently-most importantly, you DO notice a difference in performance so I think it's a great choice! The only reason I'd say don't do it is if you want to look for better color or clarity but that would prob make the price more expensive.

Goodness, I’m swooning!

It looks beautiful in the photos and really looks great with your setting!
Question is do YOU love it or is there something that is telling you no?
I ask that because you don't seem to be 100% certain about it ~ when I got my stone, it was love at first sight, like you couldn't get it off my finger unless you killed me ~ LOL. To me that's when you know it's YOUR stone!!
