Debuted this one today. My boys who were very resistant to wigs initially really like it on me. This is the same shade as my natural hair and when I try to curl it, I sometimes misjudge and get uneven curls so they’re like: Omg this looks like you after a night with rollers on.

You're reading my mind. I have wanted short and sassy alternative hair for a while now..just waiting for the right one to pop up so I can purchase it. This is the shortest I have at the moment



This one is approx 14" in length



and this one which I shared before



I am actually looking for something about 10" in length
The above alternative hair is approx 14" in length
I wore my hair short during college and graduate school (in a bob style that was shorter in back and slightly longer on the sides...an angled cut) but before and after my hair was longish
I like short especially in the summer


When/if I get my short alternative hair I will share with you

Thanks but interestingly enough if you look closely the lace hasn’t been cut yet. This is transparent lace. Even decent on my pale complexion. I didn’t do anything but put it on in this photo

On this one I don’t need powder. It’s an iwig. Silk medical cap. Very realistic. On others I do add a dab of powder but I’m in the process of cutting bangs on many of my alternative hair pieces to make it easier and most realistic

I cannot wear wig grips as I find them not comfortable but I have sensory issues so am not the "average" wearer
I wish I took better photos because I cannot smile naturally when I try lol
I just wore my friend's wig creation the other day. It is so light weight and comfy. But it is a headband wig
I find those most comfortable
But I dont love how I look in a headband

I was worried the wig grip was going to give me a headache but miraculously it did not! It was just a cheap velvet one from AliExpress too! I can’t do wig caps though! They slide off and take the wig with them

It’s kinda flat on top and then overly puffy as you head down. Cost waaaaay more than the hard fronts.

Lace fronts are challenging and while when done right they add a level of realism that non lace fronts don't they can make it look worse.
I find them difficult for two reasons 1.my head is small and if it doesn't fit snugly it will look fake 2.many are not transparent enough for my pale skin
These are the reasons I am cutting bangs into many of my alternative hair pieces. I tend to be a perfectionist and if you look super close you can tell when it's a wig if you don't have bangs..IMO
Some look great in them if it fits perfectly and blends in with their skin tone. That is not my experience unfortunately.
But the more expensive pieces will look better usually than the less expensive pieces...

Zoom in here..an expensive lace front but I see the tint..do you? And it doesn't fit her super snugly
But to be fair it needs to be cut shorter and when cut shorter it will look more natural





This is a lace front but I cut it back very short so I think this looks decent. But probably going to cut bangs in this too. I just feel more at ease if I dont have to worry about getting the lace front to fit perfectly and be invisible

@mellowyellowgirl I don't know if you have tried headband wigs yet...but if not try an inexpensive amazon headband wig. They are very easy to wear and you can have fun matching/mixing the headbands depending on what you are wearing that day. I have about a hundred different headbands and I enjoy changing the look

It looks longer on the mannequin but based on the length in inches it should fall just below my chin. I have not worn my hair that short since graduate school

Me: No no it’s a full on wig. I can pull it right off

Them: Is it human hair? It looks so good

Me: Nono it’s plastic fantastic

Everyone cracks up.

I have warned them that I’ll be showing up in randomly different hair from now on . Prior to this I was only brave enough to wear it to the Wednesday class.

Aww thanks Callie! There’s an initial adjustment phase where I was really self conscious in them but after a while, because I became more skilful at putting them on (and wig grips were a revelation) they started looking better and I just love swishing around with my dream hair. I’ve never had hair like this my entire life!

You are way past the adjustment phase now @mellowyellowgirl. They look fantastic and natural on you and you obviously know what you are doing and how to make them work. I too never had a thick head of hair. I would love to have a beautiful head of hair.

I will try sharing but this week I have radiation on my hands so I am supposed to not "use" my hands for a few weeks. Of course that would be impossible but I do the best I can just not sure I will be trying on the hair for a few weeks. But when I do I will share

So yes it has a lace front... it is a silk top lace front...medical cap. My very favorite cap because of the comfort. Here's the inside of the cap



Lace will need to be cut but because I am so pale likely I will need to cut bangs into the hairline

Aww I'm sorry. Did not mean to worry you. It's OK. I have had 15 rounds of radiation for a systemic disease that manifests in the hands (so far just the hands and praying it doesn't spread to internal organs as new research indicates it can) and only have five more rounds of radiation to go if all goes well fingers crossed. Looking forward to being finished with the RT. Monday through Friday this week then hopefully finished.

Never wore it out of the house lol but I was very slow to getting used to alternative hair. With my sweet sweet baby Tommy may he RIP. We miss him so much. We blend in this photo haha
