Thank you! I love mine, and have never seen another in person. I'm woefully inadequate at photographing jewelry, so I never have fancy photos to post, but it sparkles like mad (center and setting) and I'm very proud to own it. FI chose the setting, which I think compliments the shape perfectly.

Of course, I am a little biased.

I also never see halos IRL, though I think they are beautiful. I swoon for Ritani rings! I also love gemstones with halos...

That particular photo I LOVE, Trillionare. It looks lit from within. :)

LOL ~ you should report the "diamond news" from NYC everyday, gardengloves! Your reports are much happier than the news we usually read.

So today on the E train commute home in NYC -. I was surrounded by amazing rings. A rare day- just wish I could have shot photos. Opposite me, a young woman leafing through papers with at least a two carat eternity paired with a,maybe, 1.5 round, but scintillating, just scintallating, could not take my eyes off this honey, like a train light in a tunnel. Besides me, a woman around mid forties, very understated with a major maybe 3.5 - 4 carat , with stacked eternities- no make up, sunglasses on head, but that hand of hers- I did not know where to look first. I''m telling you, a movie star could have gotten on that train, but nothing could have pried me away from these rings. Oh, and a very young girl hanging on the bar sporting an emerald.. I.5, maybe, like a clear summer lake.

No halos sighted today, major center stones, supported by eternities .. from the subways of NY

All ages, all size diamonds... . reporting from NYC

thanks Lightning,

Since PS, this has become a hobby on my E train commutes- name the stone, guess the weight, guess the color? Everyone in NY takes mass transit- this is the place to spot diamonds with a big D.

''halos are so 2009-2010'' -- hehe! The initial PS halo movement kicked off around 2006-2007. I bought mine ''way back in 2004. Before the craze hit PS. I think it was even before I found PS. I bought a couple of halo semi mounts on eBay. Nice 18k and great pave'' and only $7510 to $1100 each for them too, with .85 to over 1ct of nice diamonds in them. Now, those were the days, lol! The bigger halo is still sitting in my safe deposit box, unused. One thing about the halos: If they go out of style for bridal jewelry, they will make fantastic gemstone rings.

Oh I know they have been around longer. A close friend bought a gorgeous diamond in Dubai to have it made into a halo to propose to his GF back in 2005. It was spectacular and very original at the time around here at least!

For me it became the *trendy* setting in only the last couple years at least around my city when more B&M stores carried them more as part of their standard offerings (and so more non PSers now knew about them!) and that is what has had me thinking they will come to be ''dated''.

And you are right - they are awesome for RHRs with gemstones. I have always preferred them that way...but that is more as I just can''t carry one off as an ering as some women seem to be able to do quite naturally!
Actually, Reena''s ring marked rhe official start of halo mania on PS way back in 2004: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/you-can-call-me-reeyonce.21349/
