I've learned alot about round diamond here but I've never looked into pear ones. I've been searching for few and saw it says ratio. Just want to ask if there is a certain ratio I should look for, avoid or it doesn't really matter?

I would look for what you like? Do you want a long skinny pear or a short fat pear?

It totally depends on what you like, I knew I did not want a skinny one and got lucky finding exactly what I wanted.

i'm looking to make a pendent for it, any suggestion? skinny or fat better?

I don't think a skinny pear is particularly attractive for ring or pendant. I think lknvrb4's pear is a well balanced size, not too fat and not skinny. Sorry I don't know any ratios. But truly, you just have to look at pictures and see which one looks beautiful to you just like any fancy shape diamond!

I see, thank you very much for the input~

oh wow, that's really cool. Thanks alot!

1:49 is the classic ratio. I like it for a pendant.

Thank you for your advice, I'll look into it~

It's best to look at some pears. Personally I like em on the fat size. My pear is 1.41.

Mine's 1.54:1, which I like, but I'll admit that when I was looking I was actually keeping an eye out for fatty pears and skinny pears - I like the unusual ones!

My ratio on my appraisal says 1.45.
