Advice on a Asscher VS2 Colour - I

Hi guys

I am looking at buying a diamond online, but a little intimidated by all the information.

The price is really good, but I looked at the GIA certificate and it's full of inclusions, as well as a big cloud in the middle.

Apparently the gem is eye-clean according the company... also, according to their own grading the optical brilliance is excellent.

Am I at risk of buying a dud?

Thanks in advance!

Sadly the supplier don't have one.

But they do have an indication of light performance in the report I attached.

Is this enough?

Yes. Its a pass. Stick to vendors that provide videos and ASETs. Like GOG.

It would at least be helpful if they could shoot a picture with the stone straight. Can't tell a thing from that picture.

Just realised the link doesn't work, but if you punch LD06552046 in to the search bar it brings up the diamond

Would never buy an asscher without a video or an ASET. Too huge a risk. Unless you are willing to return it to BN if it is not beautiful and if it has dead spots. Too many asschers have dead spots. Do yourself a favor and don't try to save that little bit of money. Call GOG or ID jewelry.

GOG is good old gold?

Thanks for the advice. It's massively appreciated.

I found this diamond on GOG and I really like the price range and the quality. It comes with an ASET, which I think you can see on the main page.

Sadly, for some reason the GIA report link is dead. I've sent an email asking for them to provide it. How does it look to you guys?

Great!

I noticed that it has fluorescence. I've also asked what colour, and waiting for a reply!

I've attached the GIA to this post.

I think I'm sold on this diamond. Very happy with its look Bd quality. Not sure what to expect from a strong blue fluorescence but from what I've read it should be a positive.

GIA report in this case is actually helpful. It has good spread. But a HUGE ( I mean ENORMOUS) table and that usually means a low crown. The stone is likely to be glassy versus fiery. Can GOG tell you the crown height (they can run a SARIN on it).

As for fluorescence. With Very Strong Fluorescence you HAVE to have a gemologist check the stone to make sure it is not milky or hazy as a small percentage of these stones do exhibit this effect. So it's not "fluorescence good" it's "fluorescence proceed with caution and have the stone checked'. GOG will be able to tell you that.

Okay?

Thanks Gypsy.

In the video it certainly seem to have a lot of sparkle.

I've asked GOG about the fluorescence and they said it is not cloudy or hazy due to the fluorescence.

As for the crown height, it is (0.66mm and 10.2%) .

Is this ok?

I've been doing some reading and it seems like 10% is borderline..ideal is 12-15. But the large table can actuallynresult in more brilliance in some cases.

I've watched the video a number of times and it seems to sparkle nicely. Doesn't appear to glassy.

Am I on the mark or is this diamond a pass?
