In general there is no hard and fast rule on cushion cut. That being said I have read in the knowledge section above under cushion cuts that you should look for a stone where the Table is smaller than the total depth and general guide lines for cuts are:

here is link what to look for in cushion cut
https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/cushion-cut-diamond

Table 54-62

Depth 59-64

http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.51-carat-g-color-vs1-clarity-sku-184201

the stone you have shown us from B2B has a table of I think 68% way out of propotion. Plus PS seem to like to stay in the excellent range for cut symmatry and polish. This stone is in the very good ...

Others will come in and share stones with you . I will look as well.

I am looking for a cushion diamond around 1.5 carat and came across this on B2C:

http://b2cjewels.com/dd-3298517-1.53-carat-Cushion-diamond-G-color-VVS1-clarity.aspx

Is that a good diamond? For the ring I really like this: http://www.b2cjewels.com/Cushion/1/5378/5384/Matching-Bridal-Sets/Cathedral-Pave-Set-Diamond-Ring-Matching-Band-Platinum.aspx

If that is not a good stone could you guys show me something around a similar price 10 to 11k? Thanks!

Biggest rule ever is DO NOT buy a fancy cut stone from a place that doesn't show pictures.

I recommend these. James Allen gives PS members a discount and you can put them on hold and request aset images:

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Does anyone see worthy stones that meet my criteria at Whiteflash? I am having a hard time on their site.

Whiteflash doesn't seem to have any cushions in house, but you could always ask them to call some in, although I do think they charge for that....here's an impressive one from ERD that has got to have one of the best asets for a cushion I've ever seen...:

another option:

shoooooot i love that 1.63!

Did you reserve that stone with them, don't want someone to snatch it up!

Yes I just did! After looking at the tifanny legacy it looks absolutely stunning! And the 1.5 carat tifanny would be 2x more than what I would be paying.

The one thing that they did ask was what size I wanted the shank. Either 2mm (closert to Tiffany size) or 2.3mm. I am leaning towards the 2. What do you guys think?

2mm is what i would do, more delicate

I showed my GF the tiffany legacy ring and she liked it except that it wasn't "thick" enough. Do you guys see anything there that is thick yet looks classy?

Like this maybe?

I would avoid having those two bezels at the sides of the shank, if you can see those, it would still look think and yet simple, still have the sides and under basket look like the original

ETA show her that cartier inspired one too, see if that split shank make it thick enough for her

AHHHHHHHHH I am back to square one. She went to Tiffany to try the cushion cut and now does not like the cushion cut at all :( Could you guys provide some links to good stones in the 10 to 12k range? Would like at least 1.4 carats if it is possible.

Oh yes I can provide you stones, but what does she like????
This may be a long shot, but this set this way would be STUNNING!

Saying "marquise" isnt always most popular thing with ladies. Its reminiscent of tacky 80's rings. BUT this one is chubby and cute and practically an oval, and will give her SOOO much finger coverage for the ctw.

Just floating it out there, i know its a long shot, but this stone is honestly gorgeous and id love to see someone snatch it up on here

or you could set it like this with the leaf motif on the side, EW or NS like neatfreaks oval (only with that marquise) Im just saying if you guys are looking at things together, maybe run it by her? Also, i would suggest she go to a place and try on every single stone at like a "1.25 ctw" and see how she feels about them. I advise have them all the same ctw because some will look smaller than other, so its important to see if she doesnt mind the stones that face up small for there ctw. for example, this marquise I posted is about 10x6. a 1.5 ct cushion is usually 7x7 or less

heres one (id have them ask if its eye clean) and scores well on the hca. and you can get a well cut one that isnt branded H&A, that would help keep the cost down. that last one you posted is 15k? What is your hard budget??

Also, the one i posted would be cheaper if you pay by wire and ask for a pricescope discount it could be closer to 12k
http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.63-carat-i-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-101634

She is dead set on the round cut now. I really like this 1.63 that you just posted. I would like to keep the diamond around 12 to 13K and total cost around 15k to 16k. Thanks again for your help!

heres a hearts and arrows one from ERD. not actually pictured yet, BUT they can get you one. looks nice, nice price. They have really nice settings, especially if she wants a halo

She likes the channel set ring that tiffanys has and james allen seems to have something very similar:

I don't see anything like that at ERD.

If they dont have one already, they can make you one, and it wouldnt be expensive. personally id go with ERD, they're quality is superb, the JA settings are nice, but the quality of ERD is a step above.

they have this nice one, not rounds but looks like this Tiffanys one
