Advice needed on uneven prongs

Hello all,

I recently purchased an engagement ring from whiteflash. Here is the setting I purchased (https://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/carina-solitaire-engagement-ring-2380.htm)

When I first got the ring, the prongs didn't look even/symmetrical. Once I noticed it, I couldn't ignore it, and my significant other is even more keen to these things than I am. I sent it back to WF so they could adjust it. Here are the pictures of the ring initially. From the top view, the prongs in the east and west positions look off. And from the side views, the sides didn't look mirrored (the diamond culet is visible on one side and covered on the other side)

After about 2 weeks, WF got back to me with the following images. From the top view, the prong in the north position just looks slanted and a little off. From the side views, it doesn't look like any changes were made. I expressed my concerns to WF and was told that "the current adjustment is the best we can do." Granted, these are enlarged pictures but I'm concerned that it will be noticeable under normal viewing conditions. Do these prongs look uneven? I plan on giving them a call tomorrow but I'm not sure what to do at this point if WF cannot make any more adjustments. What do you think? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!

I don’t have adivce, but tooking at that would make me unhappy too. Maybe the twist of the setting makes it a challenge.

I think the asymmetry of the ring is making it hard. I might go for a different setting if things being slightly off bug you (which they do me). I suspect it's too hard to line things up perfectly with all the other twisty angles in the setting.

I'm sorry you aren't happy about the setting. I don't know if this is of any comfort but I genuinely can't tell there is a difference in the prongs. I studied it for a while but couldn't tell if I was imagining a difference or if it was there. So I assume when its not magnified I wouldn't notice one bit!
the side view I will admit I can see a tiny difference. However this is a view which is not usually notice by others, or myself if I were wearing it unless I peered closely and concentrated.

Nonetheless if it still upsets you perhaps you have a local jeweller who may be able to help?

Despite everything it is very very pretty!!

I think the issue is that the setting is purposefully twisty, so it's not going to be perfectly even.

I can see that the prongs are uneven - they kind of have to be, with the sides so different (I think it is more than a small difference). It would bother me a lot. At the same time, I can see how that setting is a challenge ... I would ask for a new setting, one that is the same on each side ... that should fix the prong problem too ... and if that’s not possible, go with a different setting. You should be happy with your ring, not looking at it and wishing the imperfection away and telling yourself no one else will notice (they probably won’t unless you point it out). It’s not other people that will be staring at it every day.
Sorry if that sounds harsh.
It is pretty, though!

They fixed the bottom prong but the top prong is not shaped symmetrically. Yeah. It will depend on how OCD you are. If you can’t live with it get a different setting.

I appreciate symmetry and those prongs would drive me freaking nuts. I think the swirly setting is very pretty, but I’d change it if that’s the closest to balanced that they can get it. If it doesn’t bother you, that’s all that matters. But if it does, you’re justified in wanting it precise.

Thank you everyone for your input! I can definitely understand that with the swirling of the prongs, the setting wont be perfectly even. I'm just frustrated because when I received the ring initially and when I got the updated pictures after the adjustments, both times the ring had passed quality assurance checks. But the unevenness was pretty noticeable both times. I think at this point, I'd be ok with the side profiles not being completely mirrored with one another, but the shape of the top prong really bothers me. I'll call whiteflash tomorrow and ask if they will redo the setting for me

do not forget that the setting of a diamond is done by a human-it can not be perfect same tips under such magnifications.

I think that if they said it is good and it is not, they understand they take the risk of returning it.
So bottom line I would accept it .

The setting on the website features prongs that are more square while yours are pointed. I think that makes a big difference in how the setting looks and it would bother me.
