Hi guys,

So I purchased the below whiteflash ACA diamond and am waiting for it to be shipped.

I've been browsing still and came across these four options below, one ACA and two BG Signature stones. All are relatively close in price, so which do you prefer?

The most obvious difference at first was the clarity grade of my current diamond SI1 compared to the higher grades of these.

I don't know how much you paid for your other stone, but WF usually has favourable prices compared to BG. I'm surprised a WF ISi1 is a similar price to a BG signature I VS1.

Cut quality is excellent in both, but if you were thinking of upgrading in the future, I'd stick to WF. If this is the one and only stone, then feel free to choose the better spec one, if they are truly the same price.

I like the one you got...comes with a really nice upgrade package too.

I'm assuming it was less expensive than the others and it more mind-clean than the other WF VS stone.

Hi sorry, I forgot to mention that there is currently a 10% off promo code at BG which is why the pricing is close.

My current diamond is still about $400 cheaper.

is that 10% off the diamond or just the setting? That's a huge discount

I prefer the one you purchased to the other choices

I'm curious why you are second guessing your choice. Is there some concern or worry that we can address and help either confirm or deny your thoughts?

I wouldn't hesitate to buy from either as cut quality, customer service, etc are top notch with both vendors. However, if you think you will ever upgrade in the future, then WF gets the win. I have a BGD stone and as much as I love them, the upgrade policy is more restrictive as you have to spend $1 more and upgrade 2 of the 3 C's: carat weight, color & clarity.

Additionally I have noticed pricing is a little cheaper with WF. But more importantly, WF seems to get a larger selection of stones to choose from when upgrading. I think this aspect is sometimes overlooked by people, especially when you start getting in larger sizes where not everyone has ample inventories.

I like the first one as well. I would think the first one you already purchase is also cheaper because of the clarity. If you are worry about clarity, just inspect it when you receive it. By looking at the image it is a very eye clean diamond. I am the type that as long as it’s eye clean it’s perfectly fine.
I recently bought a SI1 diamond from WF and the picture don’t look as clean as the one you got. I would save some money if I were you.

Same q. If it's 10% off diamonds, can you pls direct me to where the code is?

Knowing the 10%off I am second guessing if I should go with BG for a better clarity as well....lol

I just purchased 2.52ct J si1 from WF for 22.5K, super eye clean. There is a J vvs2 on BG just a tag smaller 2.4 something ct. with the discount it’s about the same price...

The other thing is WF have really good upgrade system...also BG don’t have as much diamond.

Ughhh difficult choice!

I personally wouldn't make the switch - there's also a premium at the 2.5 carat mark and you've already crossed that threshold with the WF stone so crossing it with the BG in the future would cost more. Also, and as you already mentioned, WF's upgrade policy is a little bit better and they have a much wider inventory of larger stones (and seem to get new ones in a lot quicker) than BG. I have a friend who personally just went through this issue with BG so that's why I make the comment.

I think I will stick with WF, they really do have good upgrade system. Upgrade to a bigger diamond is in my mind already. Wish I have smaller ring size so I can have better finger coverage with my diamond.

Thank you, you answered the question I was just about to ask in why is WF considered far superior when it comes to future upgrades compares to BG.

I do plan on upgrading in the future. I just received the ring last night and I really do like it.

Glad I could help, and even more glad that you were happy with the ring you received! IMO, you had a really great SI1 stone as it is not only eye clean, but also mind clean (that cert looks great for an SI1 and will rival many VS2's).

And yes, upgrade policies can be tricky. Depends on your views, etc. I bought from BGD for my fiancee; however, it was because I got a great price and (at the time) I didn't think we'd even consider an upgrade as she is the sentimental hold onto it forever type. However, since discovering diamonds it really lit a passion (for me) and I want to upgrade her now, LOL.
