hi all,

i am usually a CS gal but i saw this while trolling around leon mege's website. i know what many of you think of leon but this ring spoke to me for some reason ... despite the color (N ... my ering is an E!), channel set (which i usually hate), milligrain (which i also don't love), square shape, etc. the ring literally puts together everything i don't like in diamonds!

what do you think? please be brutally honest.

You should do a search that ring has been talked about around 4 or 5 times on here and at least 2 people have tried it on. One loved it one didn't. And for the record he has raised the price on it twice as well, so if you do buy it make sure you haggle.

ooh, thanks for letting me know ... as i said, i'm not on these boards too much! sorry to re-hash

If you like it, go for it!

I love frenchies a lot (I have a ring with french cut sides from Victor Canera). However, I do not prefer the look of a frenchie as the main stone. I personally love this ring from Leon that he made for Mimi72:
But If you love it, other people's opinions should not be important:

I generally adore french cuts. Like, somebody across town says they're cutting their french class, my ears perk up. This particular ring may be one of the few which I have mixed feelings about - something about the very modern style or a prong-set three-stone with a channel band, and the almost-but-not-quite either a graduated effect OR a step effect always makes me take a second. BUT, the very things that give me pause are likely to be the ones somebody else will adore about it: the combination of modern and vintage, etc.

I will say, the stones look wonderfully cut. I wonder if he could modify it to have bezels around the three big'uns to blend with the band ....

Arkie, do you remember who tried it on? If they took hand pics, I'd love to see - sometimes vendor shots can give a completely different impression from what one sees IRL. :read:

Circe: you can phrase so well what I feel about this ring but could not describe quite so well as you can. I am curious to handshots as well..

While I'm not a huge fan of Leon I have to say his style is impeccable. I think out of the 3 major pave masters on PS, Leon's designs tend to set the trends. I also think he has the best, hands down, eye for proportions.

If you are interested then email him about it. Personally this particular design is not my cup of tea though it is coveted by other PSers, but PS gets boring when everyone has the same ring/ style.
