This board is just NOT optimized for curing racism.

Whatever you want, Kenny.

Well, nasty snarky remarks don't help.
And diamonds can be a boy's best friend too.

Respecting diversity doesn't mean respecting the right to harm others.

I think racism harms others . . . I lost my cool.

Yeah but that topic is not permitted here.

Treating a suspected racist badly on a board where the elephant in the room cannot be discussed helps nothing and just makes you (not you personally iLander - a generic you) look like a butthead IMHO.

Yeah, I can look like a butthead if necessary. Small price to pay. Saying this with a smile, not offended in any way.

It seems like you're apologizing to everyone for your past behavior (re CUSO), without actually admitting that you were out of line, and without actually apologizing to the target of your behavior (who has, conveniently for you, left). In fact, you continue to justify your behavior (the very type you find so distasteful in others) with comments like these. It comes off as both ingratiating and insincere.

And suspected racist? Come on. I too followed CUSO's posts, because they were so damn entertaining, but I don't recall the post you're referring to. Maybe I missed it. Regardless, you took every opportunity to post multiple times in his threads (most of them having nothing to do with race) and made your dislike for him known to all. It was beyond petty and IMO you can't be saved by belated cries of racism.

Yeah, after this thread, mellowed-out and tipsy is sounding good. I can only read the endless litany, so many times before I need a drink.

Folks, for those of you who don't know - when Holly and I begin to agree enough to go get sloshed together, things have gotten very weird indeed. We've begun punching through into an alternate universe. Either that or we're just too damn old to fight anymore.

Oh, fellow traveler, don't get too possessive with Holly. I claimed her as my right wing companion shortly after the Presidential elections and she and I have been pals ever since.

Deb

Wanna come drinking with us? You, Miss Virgin Daiquiris, can be the designated driver.

It sounds very boring to the non-drinker, I'm afraid. How about watching some of those old movies that you and I both enjoy like, "The Women"? Karen, are you interested in films like that? Or should we have a political discussion...along with the kind of food we had during the Presidential debates, of course.

Can I join in the drinking if I haven't been joining in the drama? I'd really like a glass of wine...

That reminds me.
Last night I saw the film, Best in Show".
A satirical comedy about dog shows and the humans in them.
Hilarious.
They made satired everyone, gay men, lesbians, straight couples, everyone.

One competitor was a dog owned by a lesbian couple.
They "interviewed" the women long after the dog show and they were publishing a magazine for pedigree dog owners who are lesbian.
The name of the magazine was, 'American B!tch".

Best in Show is one of my top five favorite movies ever.
Waiting for Guffman is great, too, especially if you've ever been in the theatre.

I haven't been in this thread, but I just couldn't pass up a chance to talk about Best in Show!!

It is one of the only movies that I could watch over and over again. I saw it in a theatre when it came out; pretty sure I was about 13. Unfortunately my husband prefers "A Mighty Wind". I just don't get it.

Come and (try to ) get him, davi. I have to warn you, though:

1) He doesn't like men and shows it*

2) He refuses to leave the enclosed yard

3) He refuses to get into a vehicle of any kind

4) He is too big to be lifted by most women. How strong a man are you?

*We have found a way to circumvent this problem. I will not divulge it if you are planning to take Griffin, however.

It is a movie that has all of the same actors that were in Best in Show. It is about a couple that were folk singing stars that fell apart. You'll have to watch it, since you enjoyed the characters of "BIS". I doesn't have the same humor as Best in Show, but like I said, my husband prefers it, and it has its moments.

I am loving that this thread has become petty but in a really good way; meaning fun small talk! :appl:

I LOVED Best in Show. I have dogs that are pretty darn froo-froo, and can look very prissy, so I can relate to people that are "into" their dogs. I saw some of myself in there.

I'm not drunk yet, Kenny, but I am working on it. :twirl:

I was just remembering the CUSO threads and IMHO he may have been a bit annoying, but not nearly as arrogant and abrasive as some long-time members that attacked him.

Good question! I would think by scent, but I think AGBF show test it!

Any drag queens in your area, AG?

The bolded question is an excellent one, Kenny. Perhaps an experiment should be arranged in which several vicious dogs who like women but attack men should be allowed to encounter men, "in really good drag".... No, wait! What if the dogs didn't go by physical appearance, as you mentioned in the next line? It could be a problem.

Yanno...since I don't know the answer to that one (although I suspect smell plays at least a part in it), I think we had better not experiment.
