Garrard was appointed the first official crown jeweler in 1843 by Queen Victoria. They are the longest serving jeweler in the world. Never did I think I would own a piece from Garrard, but fate had other plans.

A most delightful 57 point diamond G color VS1 clarity in a six prong knife edge platinum setting, simple but elegant. The diamond is their branded Eternal cut with 81 facets that come together to form a star in the center. The ring is stamped G. & Co and the diamond girdle laser inscribed Garrard, I found it with a macro lens but had a hard time getting a clear photo of it.

Along with the ring came its original red leather box, booklet with pictures, Garrard valuation and GIA report. It was a treat to unbox and unwrap, the presentation is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. This is a pre-owned piece but impeccably cared for and preserved, I’m still in awe of how pristine everything is.

In terms of performance it is very white and bright and tends to look a bit transitional in some lighting. It is mostly cloudy today so I literally chased the sun all over the house and yard and only managed one bitty fire shot.

I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Omg that’s gorgeous! You’re so lucky ! Where did you find this hidden beauty? It’s extra special that it’s pre-owned in my opinion, because it’s like you got lucky to find such a pretty high end piece with history. I love finding special pre-owned pieces like this that are so special! And I love the facet pattern!

What a beautiful and special piece.❤

:kiss2:Wow!! Classic and beautiful!
LOVE that it came with every piece of it's "ephemera."
Enjoy!!! :appl:

This is beautiful! Certainly a treasure. Enjoy!!!!!

Aw thanks @stracci2000, the secret is always “browsing” that’s how I found the hidden Vancraeynest set too. The treasures are out there but sometimes hidden.

@Sprinkles&Stones, thanks so much, I found this online, just kind of stumbled across it, was not looking for a Garrard piece. The facet pattern is very cool I agree, never seen anything quite like it.

@Diamond Girl 21, thank you, that’s part of the reason I bought it, too special to leave behind ;)

@Rubies-R-Me, I know, what are the chances of getting something so unique with all the accompanying items. Someone obviously treasured it and treated it very well.

Thank you @MamaBear!

Wow! That is a cool pattern. You're right, that's too special to pass up!

Wow this is incredible! I’ve never heard of this cut - I’m realizing I have a real fondness for a lot of novelty or unique cuts, this is no exception. Very special piece!

Thanks @Austina, that’s what I thought when I found it. Then I bought it, then I told my husband, he was unfazed lol!

@Yimmers and @Cerulean, my favorite modified round brilliant is the meteor cut. You have to look it up, it is very beautiful. Modified round brilliants are very cool. The seller’s picture didn’t even show the star, such a shame as that is the signature of this cut.

Wow! That’s incredible and add in the fact that it came with all of its packaging (so luxe) just makes it all the more special!
It certainly is white and with a most lovely, classic setting, it’s a fabulous find!!!
More pictures!!!

The meteor cut is awesome, thanks for giving me something new to learn about. Still so many to learn about that I’ve never heard of! I think the decagon cut from Jann Paul is wonderful, or I like Sakura cut…anything flower-like is totally up my alley!

Thanks so much @Slick1 and since you asked here are some outdoor shots including the ring David made that is over 13mm in diameter for perspective:

Please excuse that dog hair on my ring finger!

@YadaYadaYada petite but mighty!! Wow! Love the brightness!!

What a great find! I love the star in the middle!!

Great find @YadaYadaYada...plus it has all the paperwork and parts!

Definitely something to treasure!

Wow I’ve never seen a cut like that before nor heard of this company. It’s beautiful!

Thanks @Catmom, the star is so neat, it’s amazing what diamond cutters can do!

@tyty333 thank you, it is such a treasure and actually the only reason I went ahead was because it came with so much documentation AND the girdle is inscribed, so pretty hard to fake a girdle inscription. It just all made sense plus I could return it so nothing to lose.

@Mreader, apparently there are so many branded cuts, I didn’t even know until I did some research on this one.

@Cerulean, those are beautiful cuts, I agree that anything with a flower appearance is right up my alley too. About the meteor cut…..I learned about it from a popular wedding board, one of the members found a meteor cut in a pawn shop for $900! When she called the company to find out how much a similar ring would cost it was over 4K!

I need to learn how to shop at pawn shops! You are so good at finding great pieces!

@Cerulean, sometimes it’s just luck but also developing relationships. Pawnbrokers in particular will keep an eye out and phone you if something comes in they know you’re looking for. A lot of times you walk out empty though, you just never know.

I might have missed it but did you decide on a design for a flower ring? I remember you were looking for inspiration.

That’s a great idea. I don’t live near any, but I am moving soon so might be in a better position! I love shopping too and hunting for treasures

You are so kind to ask! I kept thinking on it, and something didn’t sit quite right with any of the designs. I’ve decided to go with a more simple solitaire actually! I’ve sent out some requests for quotes :) I will certainly keep everyone posted once I pull the trigger! I’m trying SO hard not to be impulsive since I want to get it right.

@Cerulean, I’m sure you will find just the perfect setting, it’s so hard to be patient when it comes to jewels but it does pay off in the end.

What a treasure! Thank you so much for posting and sharing it!

Outstanding beauty! Congratulations! :kiss2:

@123ducklings, always a pleasure to share with fellow bling lovers. I showed DH everything and he said it was “very nice” and asked if the diamond was natural. That was all he had to say about it!

@Tigerlilyrosepetal, thanks so much, it is pretty cool having a diamond with a star in it.

@Musia, thank you so much!
