7.5mm cushion in 8mm Stuller setting

I recently found an ACC old mine cushion cut. I fell in love with it, and want to set it into a simple solitaire and start enjoying it.

The setting I want is a 14k Stuller setting, but the ONLY sizes available for cushions are full sizes, not half.

If I buy an 8mm solitaire setting for my 7.5mm cushion and have it set locally, is this something I can do or am I getting my hopes up on a setting that won’t work? I just don’t want to spend the money on custom right now.

Advice appreciated! Here’s a pic of the stone and the setting I want. I know I can ask my jeweler too, but want to get PS opinions as well if anyone has done this before.

I would ask the jeweler. A lot of it will probably depend on their skill with setting, which we can’t answer. They will have a better idea of what they can make work than we do.

You may need the ring modified in CAD to fit. If so, one who has Stuller's CAD can do it.

I agree. Talk to the jewelers and see what they can do.
