Wow, I am showing my son-in-law this thread! :o

Those are incredible  and one of my first thoughts was how untinted those GIA J's look! I would not have guessed J! The settings are perfection! What an excellent choice to do 6 prongs!

I, too, wonder what size studs your wife wears! Or her e-ring or any other fabulous jewelry! We love seeing special pieces like this!

Thank you. Yes I was reluctant on buying J stones as have never done that before but they do face up very well. Plus the cut is good which also helps. 6 prongs were my wife's choice as she felt her mother would prefer the increased security over 4 or 3 prongs. I think they turned out well and even the vendor was surprised and might even offer the setting on their website going forward.

My wife has smaller studs - I originally bought her a pair from Cartier about 14 years ago on the birth of our first child which were 3.4 CTW round brilliants (1.7 each) and were honestly a poor buy in terms of price to size ratio. I then bought her a larger pair of RB's several years later (G colour VS1's and 2.4 CTW each) which were much better value for money. She also has a pair of trillions which she rarely wears nowadays.

Thank you all for your fantastic comments. I will post pics of the Asscher and necklace next time I get my hands on them.

Appreciate the feedback on the 6 prong setting which was the original purpose of this thread. I am glad that most of you liked it.

WOW! Beautiful earrings...and love the six prong setting
Lucky mother-in-law and lucky wife - stunning jewelry collection!

SKR,

I had to come back to have another drool...ha ha...I meant look at your wife's magnificent jewellery.

Add me to another person who's enamoured with the J studs and 6 prong martini settings. I also meant to compliment those. Your MIL's studs and settings are for sure what my studs want to be when they grow up. Mine are also J's but they def have a tint to them from the side, and am rather partial to martini settings.

May I ask, at the risk of sounding intrusive (and if I am, please feel free to ignore me or even tell me to buzz off :wink2: ), why doesn't your wife wear most of her jewellery? It seems such a shame to have most of this amazingly gorgeous collection locked away in a bank vault. I am guessing it's a security risk but perhaps you could consider insurance (but perhaps you already have it)? I am somewhat the same, or at least used to be. I used to have many pieces (though of course nowhere even near a fraction of what your wife has) and used to lock most of them away. Now that I have fewer pieces, and with the exception of one or two pieces, I tend to wear them daily and rotate what I have on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Oh my, if I had your wife's jewellery, I'd want to feast my eyes on them daily .

No problem. In terms of small diamond and gold stuff she has way too much I think. She just rotates the stuff she likes from the vault.

I love the other pieces you posted. Stunning

Your wife's jewelry is gorgeous!
Any chance you can post more photos?

What an amazing collection! If possible, could you post a picture of the necklace? It sounds like my dream piece!
